But RoCo, I can guess it will not get better. I agree the fans should continue to show up all year long. We are on the cusp of history in the making for the first time this century... for the first time in decades...

...the Crew playing multiple 'get to .500 games' in a short span.

The fans should show up. But we can give them a mulligan on this. And I am thinking giving us a heavy home schedule in September is no big favour. Our home schedules should be mid summers when HOPE brings out millions of idiots.

From ESPN.com games notes:

"After the game, Weeks and every other Milwaukee rookie was forced to wear white Hooters tank-tops and tiny black shorts before the Brewers left for their road trip."

Exactly how do you force that many kids to wear that? There were no pictures, thank god. I'm trying to get that Prince + tiny black shorts image out of my mind.

However, it is good to see the team having a little fun. This kind of thing would not (and should not) have happened last year.

I think Mike Maddux has done it again.

Quote:
In four starts since joining the Brewers' rotation, Helling has a 2.01 ERA. He has not been scored upon in his last two starts, spanning 12 innings. On Sunday he set a season high with six strikeouts and won a start for the first time since Aug. 8, 2003, while with Baltimore. He also notched his first win over the Astros since June 9, 2001, while with Texas.

"That was probably the least amount of curveballs I've ever thrown in my career," Helling said. "I'd be surprised if I threw 10 -- maybe six or eight. Today, it wasn't that good -- that was part of it -- but I also had an above-average cutter for me."

Actually, it happens every year. Rookies are hazed every year, by every team. They always have to do little errands for the vets, call them specific names (Botalicco had to be called "Judge" last year), and once a year get dressed in a bad outfit for one road trip. Jenks had to wear a USC cheerleader outfit, if I remember correctly, because he was always so proud of his alma mater.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.
