03/06/06 - Brewers at Mariners, 2:00 PM Central, MLB Audio

Brewer Fanatic Staff

Daron and Bill back online with their webcast Monday --

MLB.com's Adam McCalvy:

Chris Capuano, Dana Eveland, Jared Fernandez, Mitch Stetter and Justin Lehr are all scheduled to pitch when the Brewers travel to Peoria, Ariz., on Monday for an afternoon tilt against Richie Sexson's Seattle Mariners. For Eveland, it's a chance to atone for a dismal Cactus League debut last week in which he surrendered five earned runs on four hits without recording an out.

So... who's gonna get the Order of the Baby Seal?

My guess is Fernandez, just 'cause. I literally have no reason to pick him, so I'm gonna.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

I would still think it's Evelands right now. But he's going to have to pick it up. I think he's in the doghouse right now because of the shape he came to camp in...

Any way to listed to Saturday or Sunday's game? MLB. Gameday audio is already switched to today's date and I can't go back.

From the Multimedia menu, select Multimedia Guide.

The intial screen will have all audio/video selections for the current day. This is the "Today" tab.

The next tab to the right is "On Demand". That's the one you want for archives.

From JSonline - Have to give them credit for improving their site and getting this stuff up quicker.

Brewers' lineup for exhibition vs. Seattle

Phoenix - Left-hander Chris Capuano will make his second start of the spring as the Milwaukee Brewers face Seattle in an exhibition game this afternoon in Peoria, AZ. Here is the Brewers' starting lineup for the game:

1. Brady Clark, cf.

2. J.J. Hardy, 6.

3. Geoff Jenkins, rf.

4. Rickie Weeks, 2b.

5. Corey Koskie, 3b.

6. Jeff Cirillo, 1b.

7. Gabe Gross, lf.

8. Damian Miller, c.

9. Brent Abernathy, dh.

Relief pitchers: Dana Eveland, Jared Fernandez, Mitch Stetter. Minor-leaguers TBA.

Rickie goes from lead-off (speculation) to clean up?

Koskie still with the Crew, interesting.

And I doubt Eveland breaks with the Club as a LH reliever. He'll be a starter in Nashville. I doubt the Brewers have given up on him as a starter, part of the reason he was up last year was to limit the number of innings on his arm.

""""""Would you rather have Lehr or Fernandez in the pen, if they pitch about the same, I would take Fernandez, just because of the knuckler!""""""""

you gotta be kiddin me, Lehr is much more proven then Fernandez. your question should be "lehr vs cappellan/kolb"

and again id take lehr becuse he has 4 solid pittces, and his splitter and changeup negates lefthanded hitters.. cappelan has 2 piches. fernandez, give me a break

Lehr gets absolutely no credit, and is probably the most underrated of the brewers pitchers. If he cuts down his walks, I think he can be very effective and has been last year on occasion. His ultimate goal, as I understand it, is to get back to starting.

One other guy I'd like to see given an honest shot this year is jorge. I guess it's really up to him. We'll see how he does in the WBC, probably tommorrow against the US as he may very well be one of the top lefty options out of the pen for mexico. I think he pitched a scoreless walk free inning against AZ the other day. He's been doing alot of pitching lately against live hitters(mexican league and now WBC). If he doesn't get it this year, it's "fare thee well" elsewhere. Maybe he needs a change of scenery.

OK. I'm back after an extended weekend vacation to Chattanooga TN and will try/hope to do a running box score for this game...just like I did for several of the ST games last year.

I'll be around listening to the game, too. So if you need a break at any point (cuz I know it is tough work), just let me know. If I'm here.

Thanks Toby. I might take you up on that offer. I'll give half inning by half inning updates within this post. So watch this one for constant re-freshing.

First update: Mariner starter change. Expected starter Bobby Livingston has been scratched and Matt Thornton will be making the start instead.
