3/19/06 Brewers Split-Squad Day, at S.F. (Giants Audio)

Mass Haas
Brewer Fanatic Staff

Let's in-game-thread two!

The 2:05 PM game in Scottsdale features Dave Bush vs. Matt Morris.

Sunday and Spring Training -- for many, not a reason to chain ourselves to the PC, especially if the weather is cooperating.

This game will be available via MLB.com audio (the San Francisco feed).

With the Brewer / White Sox game available via MLB.TV for many, this game will be in need of a play-by-play volunteer. How about at least for the early innings, as we're all excited about Dave Bush's spring thus far. Could be a longshot shout-out, but our Brewerfan faithful rarely lets us down.

Day off Monday -- expect several more assignments to minor league camp after this, the final split-squad day of the spring.

Quote:
Nelson Cruz 2-for-2 -- his spring OPS was 1.205 prior to those hits -- if you're going to have a small sample, it might as well be off-the-charts!

I was in Arizona all last week so I am not sure if it was discussed but his bomb in Scottsdale was EPIC. I was in the right field grass area and when he hit it I thought it would wind up in medium cf due to the monstrous height. Instead it just kept going up and up and eventually carried just to the right or OVER the 430 ft (30 ft high) cf fence. It looked like, from my angle that it cleared the wall but I can say for certain that it WOULD have cleared it if it would have needed to. It was monstrous.

I know it means absolutely nothing, but it is nice to finally win a game after a long time. Too bad I never heard of half the players the Brewers and Giants threw out there.

Awesome job, undertow, hope you're enjoying the broadcast thus far...

Thanks. I'm mostly a lurker here, but this site does such an awesome job of keeping me informed of what's happening with the Brewers. (and MLB in general) I'm happy to do what little I can to help.
