I was absolutely certain it was Radke until Daron said 'Dustin'. But I think you're right: it's gotta be Ryan again today. Maybe Dustin is the guy in the booth who looks up stats and stuff.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

With Lee and Weeks ready to return soon, we should finally have the full lineup back for the last week of spring training.

One week for Hardy and Weeks to get some work in together on the double play. Bet Yount will be working overtime.

I thought Webb was supposed to be the hottest pitcher in the Cactus League? Doesn't sound like it today. Glad the Crew is taking him to school.

Has the Crew had one hard hit ball? Seems they're all fisted, blooped, seeing-eye singles, etc. Good hitting, but not hard hit balls.

[ I think it's similar to where Branyan kind of helped out - he got walked a ton and helped cycle through the order. I don't know that Rivera will get that much respect, though, at least not right away. He'd probably start off hot and hit a couple bombs in April, then get figured out. It'd be a matter of him adjusting, which maybe he can't, to being pitched around. Mark Johnson might be overly patient, but I wouldn't mind him getting a shot at the backup spot, either. ]

The difference between Rivera and Branyan is that Branyan has a history of a high OBP and Rivera doesn't.

That's kind of what I was saying when I said maybe he can't adjust to getting pitched around. Maybe he'll just flail at everything like he has in the past, but maybe when that pitcher makes a mistake, it will get crushed by Rivera - if he hits .210 and has a SLG of .425 or so, then he's still a decent improvement over Moeller, and at least he'd have to be someone to worry about a little bit.

I agree, he could go either way. And I also agree that it's probably time to see an alternative, whether it be Mark Johnson or Mike Rivera.

JJ just hit the last pitch pretty hard. Everything else might not be hit all that hard but they are making contact and getting it done. Can't wait to see what happens when the Crew is back to full strength

Daron was just referring to a comment Brandan Webb had made. It was something to the effect of: "These are major league hitters; you can't expand the zone. Major league hitters just won't do that." This is one time I wish Bill were in the booth.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
