Final: Arizona Padres 9, Arizona Brewers 4

Attendance: 10; amazingly, someone is there from MiLB.com making note of each play and updating the game log...

Arizona Box Score:

Padres score in six different innings; Brewer pitchers walk ten -- that's now 110 walks in 15 games, coming into today the second-most walks in the league was 63; rehabbing LHP Mitch Stetter's ready, he comes in to strike out two, stranding two, working on a second consecutive day; breakout players screaming "make note of my performance" are few and far between in Maryvale this year...

It is truly remarkable how bad the AZ Brewers have been since their inception. They've had like what, one winning half in about 6-7 years of play?

It is getting to the point where I think the Brewers should re-open an academy in the Dominican, ditch the AZL team and get either another short-season rookie ball team, or field a short-season A-ball team for the first time.

The AZL team seems worthless to me. Good progress has been made at every other level in the system. What's the best thing to come out of Maryvale in July/August? Hernan Iribarren, who was overmatching the league anyway?

Get rid of it for something else, maybe. But do it because they don't win in Rookie ball? Hardy, Hall, Jeffress, Escobar, Cain, Ford, Fermaint, Brewer, Dillard, Langille, Periard, Chapman, Anundsen are xamples of some of the players who got their feet wet in AZ. Carlos Villanueva spent 2 years there in the Giants system. There's some intriguing guys there now like Edgar Trejo and Brett Whiteside. I'm guessing the Brewers have some end results in mind by keeping AZ for now.
