Link Report for Games of Wednesday, July 2nd

Let's give a little credit to RHP Justin Backsmeyer out there in High Desert. On a staff of struggling pitchers, he appears to be pulling his weight.

The 23 year old relief pitcher has a 3.16 ERA, 1.17 Whip, and a K/BB ratio of almost 4:1. He's given up less than 1 hit per inning. Not saying he's a big-time prospect, but anyone putting up those numbers in the California League deserves a little credit.

Got you covered, earlier in this thread I posted the following right in front of the Maverick box score:

Maybe it's time to see what RHP Justin Backsmeyer can do in the starting rotation; he's only 23, and his 1.18 WHIP in 42.2 Cal League innings works for me...

Maybe I'll post those always insightful little blurbs (gag) in red going forward (no, don't worry!) -- everyone's eyes go right for the box scores...

And Colby, Mike Adams is going tonight, as the Huntsville site recap you read earlier in this Link Report told you, right? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Sorry MB, my time has been limited the past couple of weeks, so I've been skimming if anything. I promise to be back to my more thorough reading schedule within another couple of weeks http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

But since I have your attention, do you want to take a stab at whom might be pitching tomorrow (Friday) night in Beloit (if you haven't already posted this of course)? I might try to sneak away for an evening...

No promises, of course, but it'll most likely be RHP Dennis Sarfate, who last threw on Saturday...

Besides the exciting finish in the bottom of the 9th, my highlight of the eve came from two unusual suspects. While my wife and I were walking to the car after the game, we heard some very loud yelling. The two gentlemen were carrying on, screaming" Ya, go Snappers. Snappers rule." A lot of that kind of noise. Upon further inspection I could see that the two were none other than Tom Wilhelmsen and Steve Moss. The were freaking hilarious. Thanks to Brewerfan.net I could see that it wasn't just two guys screwing around, but two top prospects. Awesome!!!

Oh Yeah, Great!! (sarcasm)

Damn Kids!!!

Thanks Jim & Michael. As much as I'd like to see Sarfate again, if you didn't tell me it was a day game I'd probably pull a Brian & show up at 7:00 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .
