Link Report Tue. 8/5 - Beloit is up, but Mike Jones is down

MassBrew

Gotta like what we've seen from Jason Shelley. It's a pretty big step up from the Frontier League to AA but he's certainly handled it so far. It's only 4 starts but his K/BB ratio of 4.8/1 is impressive. Good to see the Brewers looking everywhere for talent.

I thought they gave up too early on Matt Hammons, another indy league find. He could have helped out at High Desert. He's now dominating Florida State league hitters for the Cardinals organization.

If Shelley continues on this pace, he could be another guy in the Brewer mix sometime next year.

Stealth catching prospect Jeremy Frost with 2 walks tonight and a base hit.

Frost will be 24 in November and has yet to pick up his catcher's mitt this year, igor. With Joel Alvarado barely able to maintain a limp right now and Brian Foster banged up, the fact that Frost has yet to see action behind the plate in High Desert is quite telling. He needs to keep slugging away to stay on the radar. He's basically Keith Luuloa of Indy, just five years younger and two levels behind.
