Huntsville rained out.

Will be made up as a doubleheader starting tomorrow (Wednesday) starting at, I believe, 11:05 am CST.

Also, I can't find any "Listen Live" link on the Newstalk 1430 website for the Indy Indians. What am I missing?

Nevermind, I got the audio link now.

Anyone know who is pitching Game 2 for Indy? I finally got the Audio to connect.

Sounds like there won't even be a game 1

Looks like the same system that rained out Huntsville is hitting Indy. Checked Weather.com, looks like the rain is spiraling around Indy and not moving West to East which means it is going to stay awhile.

Anybody want to fill us non listeners in on an inning by inning update of the Indy games today? I would love to get the audio link but i do not have audio via my work computer. Just thought it might make the afternoon go a bit faster.

I was talking with the strength and conditioning coach about the rotation and he stated that the fifth spot they would be trying some things. Which I took to mean some sort of piggybacking. Someone mentioned Pena tonight and mass has a possibility of Dillard. Wouldn't be surprised to see both.

Peoria (Cardinals), Beloit 2

Beloit Site Game Summary and Player of the Game Info:

www.snappersbaseball.com/...34f15433af

From Madbad:

Snappers lose 4-2...not a cold, cold night but just chilly. Great night for baseball.

BAD NEWS:

Show up at the stadium and Moss is walking on crutches and in a walking cast. Not sure of the injury but I heard out a month. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

The good...Drew Anderson had a nice triple in the first that set up first run. Hell of a shot that bounced in right center just at the base of the wall.

Started out nice but ended bad tonight. Pena looked great. Came out firing and looked great start to finish...aside from a balk.

Dillard came in after Pena and looked ok at first then fell apart. Got hit hard. Beresford came in and looked pretty good. His breaking ball was wicked.

Lou got robbed on a steal attempt. Throw was high and he came in low. Ump was right on top of it and made a horrible call. Lou was already coming UP from his slide when tagged.

Terry Evans for Peoria is a man among boys with the stick. Hit a dinger yesterday and roped a double tonight. He's hit everything hard. The third baseman for Peoria tonight #8 Mike McCoy has a hell of an arm. Made some fine stabs and throws. He was able to make a diving stop and still throw out Terry "Truffles" at first. Not an easy thing to do I guarantee.

No love from the D tonight as Peoria played great defense all around and it showed on the scoreboard. Robbed the Snappers of quite a few hits as the SS and 3b brought their gloves tonight.

Captain Lou DH'd today and to answer Kraft's question...that is only the 2nd time Lou has dh'd in 5 games. It's a way to get Marks in the game as he is the superior defender and it keeps Lou's bat in there.

Beloit Box Score:

Lou Palmisano's .619 OBP is 2nd in the league...

Rancho Cucamonga (Angels) 11, High Desert 1

Chris Morris had three stolen bases and the bullpen had ten strikeouts to one walk in 8+ innings pitched, but that's about all the good news for the Mavs this evening. Starter Dave Nolasco got hammered and last only 2/3 of an innings, allowing six runs on four hits and the same number of walks. Hopefully this kind of box score will not be the norm like it became last season.

And how about that Callix Crabbe? Showing up Weeks, he is.

High Desert Site Game Summary:

A Rancho Cucamonga Quake six-run first inning was enough to put away the High Desert Mavericks in a Mavericks 11-1 loss to the Quakes on Tuesday night at Mavericks Stadium, before 1,038.

Quakes pitcher Jean Toledo (1-0) picked up the win in his first 2004 appearance, surrendering only a run on two hits in five and a third innings of work, along with four strikeouts and no walks. David Nolasco (0-2) suffered through a rough outing and took the loss for the Mavs, allowing six runs on four hits along with four walks in only two-thirds of an inning.

The first eight Rancho Cucamonga (3-2) batters reached safely in the first inning, centered by Erick Aybar?s two-run triple and a two-run single by B.J. Weed.

The Mavericks (2-4 ) collected their only run of the ballgame in the third inning, via a Callix Crabbe RBI triple which scored Froilan Villanueva.

Rancho Cucamonga tacked on two more runs in the second on Greg Porter?s two-run homer to right, and expanded their lead to 9-1 on a David Gates RBI single. Adam Pavkovich?s RBI double in the 7th expanded the Rancho lead to 10-1, while Gates scored in the 9th on a Weed infield single and throwing error by Ozzie Chavez, finishing off the scoring.

Toledo benefited with the huge offensive cushion by frustrating the Mavericks offense virtually all night long, retiring nine of 11 hitters at one point, spanning the third through sixth innings. Dan Kolb, who struck out five Quakes in three and a third innings of relief, provided a positive note for the Mavericks pitching staff by retiring a stretch of nine of ten hitters he faced, spanning the second through fourth inning.

High Desert hosts Rancho Cucamonga Wednesday night at 9:05 (Central) in the third game of a four-game series and game three of a seven-game homestand to start the season for the Milwaukee Brewers high A affiliate. Ryan Costello (0-1) will take the hill for the Mavs, facing counterpart Phil Wilson (0-1).

IIRC, John Santor of the Peoria Chiefs started in the MWL All-Star game last year instead of Prince Fielder. But, yet, he is back in low A and well, we know what Prince is doing. Just thought I would provide that tidbit of information.
