Link Report for Games of Thursday April 22nd

just to clarify, but I wasn't seeking to bash Hart or anything. I was simply seeking to explain why I typically haven't ranked him as highly as others. My reason for saying so was simple...someone said there are people who aren't as optimistic about Hart as he was, and I thought I'd give my reasons.

What excites me about Corey Hart is his rare combination of speed, power, and batting average. I have obvious concerns, but I don't worry about those too much. I figure he'll hit some more homers as he fills out. But I was just stating that while he was MVP, his numbers don't jump off the pages like Fielder's do. I think Corey should not see big league time this year, because I feel he's farther away that people think. I'm basing that on his huge strikezone, learning of a new position, and youth. Of course, I think he could be in the big leagues this year, but I'd rather see him slowly brought along. Perhaps some sort of a 2005 platoon where Pods, Krynzel and Hart split time could be of benefit. I think back to Jenkins' first full year, and he sure was fun to watch. I think part of it had to do with the lack of pressure of being an everyday player, but rather knowing that he and Ochoa were working together as teammates and were in the same boat. I'm just not always a fan of breaking in youngsters by handing them starting jobs for 150 games
