Link Report for Games of Monday, May 3rd

Well I guess he should go by whatever he wants. Most people under 30 (and probably most from 30-40) don't have a clue who Captain Lou is so I can understand the lack of connection. Sweet Lou? yawn.

David, by dissing the Sweet Lou monicker, you're now going to labelled as a stubborn, obstinate, curmudgeony, old schooler who is resistant to change and ideas other than your own.

Toby's nothing if not persistent, but I wonder if Prince is going to claim the top spot in the next Power 50. He's certainly gotten off to the best start with the bat of any of the top 3.

Hey, IM 27 and know captain lou albano. Mr rubberband face.

if a guy wants to be called sweet lou, then call him that, dont call him soemthing else just cause YOU like it better, its not YOUR nickname.

And until one of you actually become friends and hang out with Lou, you dont ahve the right to call him whatever you want.

Just deal with it.

Frankly who cares, he'll probably tear his shoulder and never hit 300 again someday soon and we will all forget about him soon enough.

J.J., you're killing me.

toby, what did I tell you? Take him off the top spot!

I change my name, so its your turn to move him down. He cant handle the pressure.

All kidding aside. Seriously. JJ Hardy is NOT a bigger prospect than Prince. NO WAY NO HOW!

Which part of this:

Well I guess he should go by whatever he wants.

implies that I think we should call him what we want?

I don't particularly like the nickname "Sweet" Lou, but I agree with you that he should be called whatever he wants. I'm quite sure he doesn't care what I think, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion.

I asked Lou in person about the Cap'n Lou moniker, and he was well aware of us calling him that and he didn't mind in the least.

Who was the original Sweet Lou? First one I ever heard of was Whitaker...am I missing something?

Edit: Duh...forgot Piniella.

I'm not sure if you're just joking SoCal given the spirit of the thread, but Sweet Lou Brock is the first Sweet Lou I remember. I agree that the Sweet Lou nickname is the easy one to come up with, which IIRC is why we came up with Captain Lou.

Don't waste your time with this....even his own signature tells you he thinks the world is all about him. He hasn't had an original idea in years, and specializes in picking apart others thoughts for what he believes is his clever gain. Others see it as a desperate attempt to gain attention....most just ignore. He'll now cut and paste a few words from this post with some critically sarcastic comment and think he's somehow improved his status in life.

We have firsthand knowledge that Lou is fine with this nickname....everyone knows that.

Perhaps this has been discussed a long time ago, but I was wondering about the site's thoughts on Hart batting so low in the order in Indy.

Is it just a way of forceing him to work on his pitch recognition to take more walks with no protection? Or are they just sheltering him from offensive pressure to adapt to yet another postion change?

Wow, you must have been saving up that one for awhile foamy. Seems a little off target since my tagline is less than flattering and makes fun of me. I guess when I'm being self depricating it's just an attempt at getting attention. I only hope to one day be as important as you.

Someone else mentioned this a week or two ago, and they seem to have moved Hart around a little bit in the order. I'm not sure the reason, maybe they just want to take the pressure off of him a little bit. Or, maybe Cooper feels batting Hart a little lower gives the team the best chance to win. I'm not so sure it has to do with the position change.

So yes fans, while we won't need overly detailed play-by-play blows, feel free to interject within the Link Report an occasional update for either game.

The day you mention this you get a Sweet vs. Cap'n Lou debate, among other cat fights http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

You know, he has a really cool, lyrical last name -- "Palmisano." Couldn't we do something with that, thus sparing the whole, tired "Lou" thing altogether? I don't know . . . Wild Palms, 23rd Palm, Life Line, something like that? I know somebody less tired than I can take this and run with it.

Greg.
