Link Report for Games of Monday, May 3rd

While the Brewers lick their wounds with another Monday off, there's opportunity throughout the day to take part in the audio feast that is Monday's Daily Menu:

All times Central; pitchers subject to change; pre-game audio begins approx. 15 minutes prior to game time listed...

This is a good place to remind you as well, that all three affiliates provide pre-game shows that nearly always include a daily interview, plus it's a fine place to pick up injury and transaction news and injury analysis that is often not quite yet online.

INDIANAPOLIS: TBD at home vs. Toledo (Tigers), 11:00 AM -- morning baseball for you...

HUNTSVILLE: LHP Jeff Housman at home vs. West Tenn (Cubs), 12:05 PM -- dueling matinees between the AAA and AA levels today...

HIGH DESERT: LHP Eric Henderson at home vs. Lake Elsinore (Padres), 9:05 PM; the over-under on successful pick-off attempts is two...

BELOIT: LHP Greg Kloosterman at Wisconsin as the Snappers visit their in-state rivals from Apple-ton, 6:35 PM; the Snappers return to the airwaves...

With Beloit in Apple-ton for 6:35 starts on four consecutive nights beginning on Monday, wondering if Al the Thinking Man or others from that part of the state will be providing any first hand accounts.

Checking out LHP Greg Kloosterman Monday night is a fine choice. Of course, there's always Sweet Lou Palmisano (man, I hate giving up "Cap'n"), who's likely to DH on any night he's not catching.

In progress: Toledo (Tigers) 3, Indianapolis 2, after three innings

RHP Pedro Liriano is on the mound for Indy...

As has been the case so often this season, I'm unable to pull up proper audio from the 1430 WXNT web site for the Indy audio. As an alternative, you can listen to the Toledo broadcast here:

www.mudhens.com/info/list...asp?view=5

The page makes you think there's a video link as well, but there is not.

As of noon Central, the Huntsville pre-game show on the reliable Huntsville audio is underway. LHP Ryan Costello is the pre-game guest.

So yes fans, while we won't need overly detailed play-by-play blows, feel free to interject within the Link Report an occasional update for either game.

Thanks!

LHP Jeff Housman struck out the first three West Tenn batters in the top of the first.

Just a thought, perhaps it's not a totally fair statement, because the Brewers couldn't have quite foreseen the injuries to Chris Capuano, Mike Jones and Ryan Miller.

But releasing Matt Parker from Indy so that Travis Phelps could be activated from the DL just prior to the injury run sure sent the organization into "scramble mode", along with the weather-induced run of double-headers as of late for the Stars.

Updates:

In progress: Indianapolis 6, Toledo (Tigers) 3, after six innings

Seems like both sources of audio are failing now...

In progress: Huntsville 1, West Tenn (Cubs) 0, bottom of the fourth at "the Joe"

LHP Jeff Housman cruising, a booming Prince Fielder double scores the game's lone run thus far -- the inning could have been bigger but for a Tony Gwynn, Jr. baserunning gaffe getting tossed out at third on a grounder to SS; ho-hum, Rickie Weeks plunked again (in the shoulder, he's OK). Housman got retribution by hitting the leadoff man in the following inning (Jeff, wait until two are out next time -- but then immediately induced a double-play grounder).

That's it from me until this evening -- go Tribe - Stars - Mavs - Snappers! Who needs Mondays off, huh, Brewers?

Someone want to explain to me when Housman decided getting punch outs was important? The guy goes from smoke and mirrors to dealing with an ERA seemingly out of whack? I wonder if some odd upward mobility on the old power 50 will be waranted by this unexpected show of stuff.

It's not that it's dumb Kat it's that every other Lou in the world that plays a sport is called sweet. As I recall Jim was really on the ball with this one last year. And I agree we're all for anything but sweet.
