MassBrew or others,

I am going to be driving through Beloit on Sunday and am thinking about stopping in for a game. Can I assume that they are running a 5-man rotation and Pena will be on the mound come Sunday?

maybe El Duquecito has taught the kids how to battle.

It'll be interesting to hear the line for Hendrickson, assuming he did go. Could be a lot of unearned runs.

Also, Hernandez should be getting into games soon.

Square I was just thinking the same thing. Maybe just two innings today as a preparation for a Saturday start for the Crew. Who else is going to make that start...Burba?

Let's keep our fingers crossed that that is the only reason he left early.

Other than injury, I don't think there can be any other explanation. I told my wife Saturday at MP that Adams and Hendrickson should be brought up relatively soon. I admittedly do not understand all of the Super 2 implications. Therefore, I thought it would be a little later than sooner.

Wow. This is a very interesting development. I have tickets to this weekend games at PNC, so that would be cool to be in the stands for his Major League debut.

As for Hernandez, he is scheduled to go on Thursday.

By the way, it's officially ridiculous that because Indianapolis can't provide a functional audio link to a willing audience, that we're all forced to speculate on the Ben Hendrickson call-up rather than hearing it directly.

Let's get with it, Indy, or at least explain to your fans what the heck is going on!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif

Indianapolis Post-Game Press Release:

Indianapolis bounced back from a 7-0 deficit Tuesday afternoon to defeat the Columbus Clippers, 15-11. After the Clippers scored six runs in the third inning, Indianapolis rallied for 10 runs in the fourth inning.

The Tribe added three more runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh to wrap up the victory. The two rivals combined for 30 hits. Tribe reliever Roberto Giron (1-0), who recently joined the club from Double-A Huntsville, threw three innings, allowing no runs on two hits, striking out five.

Indianapolis is now 21-15 and Columbus falls to 18-18. The Tribe stretches its lead to three games over the Clippers in the IL West Division.

Jon Nunnally led the potent Tribe offense with four hits and Corey Hart and Jeff Liefer each added three hits.

QUOTES:

Indians designated hitter Jon Nunnally:

"I just wanted to duplicate what I did last night," Nunnally said. "We just got some hits there and the pitchers kept us in the game. I knew that when we were down 7-0, we could chip away at the lead.

Being at home, I knew we?d have the last ups and we just kept our heads up and kept going."

Indians right fielder, Corey Hart: "We?re a team that can score a lot of runs," said Hart. "Once we get on a roll, we can dominate. We?ve come back before. We keep competing. A lot of young guys are on this team and guys that have been in the big leagues. Everybody has the same goals.

Hart on manager Cecil Cooper: "Coop?s helped me out a lot with my offense," said Hart. "I?ve moved up on the plate a little bit and it?s helped a lot."

Tribe center fielder Ryan Knox on the victory:

"Our offense just caught on today," said Knox. "This was a fun game to win. We?ve done this a few times this year. We have not been a consistent team hitting the ball, but today everything worked well. It just happened."

NOTES:

Roberto Giron earned his first victory of the season in his first appearance with the Tribe this year. Giron was the closer for last year?s Indians club. The 10 runs scored in the fourth inning was an Indians season high.

Ben Hendrickson started the game and was on a 50-pitch count before exiting after two innings of play.

Chris Magruder, Jeff Liefer and Luis Figueroa each extended their hitting streaks to five games. Indianapolis is 11-4 against IL West Division opponents and 10-7 at home.

Brewerfan net fans: A new thread has been started on the Ben Hendrickson Saturday call-up speculation on the Major League forum. Please continue any discussion on the subject there -- thanks - MB.

Nice outings by Giron and Montalbo. Is anyone with insights into such things actually worried about Moss, or can we just assume he has, um, gathered some moss while injured? Corey Hart rocks; our big Ben Grieve debate could get very academic very soon.

Greg.

Beloit Game Summary (from the Burlington site):

The Burlington Bees (13?26) had the bases loaded with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Ty Taubenheim struck out Chris Lubanski on a 3?2 pitch to preserve the Beloit Snappers (21?18) 3?2 win at Community Field this afternoon. The win gave the Snappers a sweep of the four?game series and extended the Bees losing streak to a season?high six games.

Bees' starter Greg Atencio (2?4) allowed all three runs (two earned) in 6.2 innings. The Snappers scored first in the top of the first inning. Leadoff man Guilder Rodriguez hit a tap to first, but Kila Kaaihue's underhand flip went over the head of Atencio covering at first for an error as Rodriguez raced all the way to second. Drew Anderson drove in Rodriguez with a double to left?center field to make it 1?0. In the second, Atencio issued a two?out walk to Tim Marks who then moved to second on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Agustin Septimo through the right side of the infield giving the Snappers a 2?0 lead.

The Bees got on the board in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a pair of Snappers errors. With two outs, Bryan Graham walked and went to second on a single by Luis Gonzalez. Kila Kaaihue hit a grounder to second that got booted by Rodriguez for an error and Graham came in to score. Jeff Barry reached on an error by Adam Heether at third to load the bases, but Lubanski grounded out to first to end the inning.

The Snappers added an insurance run in the top of the seventh. Carlos Corporan singled and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Marks. Septimo flied out to center to move Corporan to third and Rodriguez drove him in with a single to center field. Steve Bray came in after the single and pitched an inning and a third of scoreless relief. Dusty Dosett pitched a scoreless ninth.

Snappers' starter Brian Montalbo (3?2) allowed just the one unearned run in seven innings for the win. Tim Dillard pitched a scoreless eighth and Taubenheim came on for the ninth. Kenard Springer and Brandon Powell opened the inning with singles and Graham walked to load the bases. Gonzalez drove in Springer with a sacrifice fly to center to bring the Bees to within 3?2. Kaaihue walked to load the bases, but Barry bounced to third and the Snappers got a force out at the plate for the second out of the inning before Taubenheim struck out Lubanski to end the ballgame.

I wonder if they handled the promotion in a fun way. Like I remember with D'Amico in 2000 that they had him throw an inning or two, then the coach told him to hit the showers. Shocked, he asked why, and the manager said "cause you're starting in Milwaukee" on (insert day of week).
