I can't believe that Brevard is starting Ryan Anderson tonight in the spot in the rotation for Ryan Costello.

Costello is arguably the most consistent starter in the minor league system right now and to take innings away from him does not make any sense.

I'm not saying Anderson doesn't deserve a chance, but in Costello's spot??

I'd have to imagine that at this point the Brewers are pretty excited to let Anderson loose to see what he can do. Considering he was in AAA before the whole injury fiasco happened, i'm guessing he's only going to get a little tune-up work before the Brewers try to send him up the chain.

Once the Brewers are fed up with a couple of their AAA starters and they feel Parra, Eveland and/or Sarfate are ready to make the jump, Costello will get his next shot at AA... They're not going to let a 25 year old with a sub 1.00 WHIP and 3.6:1 K:BB ratio rot in Brevard County all year.

It's rather interesting to see that after very different starts, Fielder, Krynzel, and Nelson have nearly identical stats.

That is very interesting Mr. Automator. I am just wondering who is consistently getting on at the bottom of the order to give Krynzel the same ammount of RBI's as Fielder in the middle of the lineup. I would imagine Mr. Weeks is sitting on base quite a bit for Fielder. Is it just Weeks driving everyone in before Fielder gets a wack at it?

Weeks has 35 RBI's compared to Fielder's 24... I think Rickie's extra base hits coupled with Fielder's subpar batting average accounts for it.

I'm assuming it's his k/9 ratio that excites people because the rest of his numbers aren't exactly eye popping

Wow, can somebody turn down the crowd mike on the Lake County broadcast in Charleston?

It's unbearable and embarassing.

Anyway, Josh Baker pitching well, scoreless in the 3rd in the first of two seven-inning affairs tonight.

In progress, Game One: Lake County 4 (Indians), West Virginia 3, heading to the bottom of the 7th

Josh Baker absolutely pounded the strike zone in his six-inning stint -- nice! Derek DeCarlo, trying to protect a 3-2 Power lead, allowed two bloop hits to open the 7th (and final) inning, then a sac bunt and intentional walk loaded the bases. Potential double play ball -- but oh no, just beat it out -- tie game. Solid two-out base hit next as DeCarlo loses the lead. On to the bottom of the 7th -- stay tuned....

Actually, because of a passed ball on one of his strikeout pitches, Ryan Anderson had to face four batters, and did so nicely -- so it was better than you mentioned http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif !

Brandon Gemoll with a three run homer in the top of the fifth to give Huntsville a 4-0 lead at Carolina.

Caronlina with three runs in the bottom of the 6th. Stetter strikes out 2 after coming in for Sarfate.

Sarfate's final line: 5.1, 4H, 3R, 2ER, 4BB (1 intentional), 8K

4-3 Huntsville heading to the 7th.

Chris
