Have not seen this elsewhere. Rickie #1 Prince #8, solidhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

www.baseballamerica.com/t...t2005.html

. Rickie Weeks, 2b, Brewers (Triple-A Nashville)

If you downgraded Weeks from "potential superstar" to "potential solid player" after last year's .259-8-42 showing at Double-A Huntsville, it's time to re-evaluate. Weeks needed just 46 this year to match his 2004 RBI total, and is 8-for-19 with three doubles, three home runs and nine RBIs in five games since a two-day break to attend his brother's graduation.

8. Prince Fielder, 1b, Brewers (Triple-A Nashville)

Fielder hit three home runs in his first 44 games this season, but has exploded for seven home runs and 16 RBIs in his last eight contests. The future right side of the infield in Milwaukee is looking mighty good from here.

nice outing from Baker...I think he's had two of these so far.

Other than him and Adams throwing well...yuck!

So who all is in the rotation in AA now, if Sarfate, Ballouli, and Costello all went tonight?

West Virginia Game Log:

Josh Baker very, very good in his last two outings; Robbie Wooley will bounce back from this one (two wild pitches, two errant pickoff attempts); and I'm officially petitioning for some Power 50 love for 20-year-old Robert Hinton, who seems to strand inherited runners in each of his appearances...

Final: Mississippi (Braves) 10, Huntsville 1

Huntsville Site Game Summary:

Joseph, Lerew Lead Braves to Big Win

Onil Joseph singled three times and knocked in four runs as Mississippi pounded out a season-high 15 hits en route a 10-1 win over Huntsville in the first of a four-game series at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. The Braves improved to 25-27 and moved to within two games of South Division leaders Birmingham, which was rained out at home against Montgomery. The Stars dropped their fourth consecutive game to the Braves and fell to 22-30 overall and 10-18 on the road in their most lopsided loss of the season.

The Braves reached Stars starter Dennis Sarfate for three runs in the second inning, all with two outs. Mississippi starter Anthony Lerew singled back through the middle to drive in Brian McCann from third and push Wes Timmons to third base to start the scoring. Gregor Blanco walked to load the bases before Joseph legged out an infield hit on a chopping ground ball to shortstop Enrique Cruz, who sailed his throw to first past first sacker Brandon Gemoll to allow Lerew to score to make it 3-0.

The Braves tacked on two more in the third on when McCann doubled with one out and scored when Timmons followed with a two-base hit. Luis Hernandez then singled home Timmons with two outs. Sarfate was taken out after four innings, his shortest outing of the year, during which he allowed five runs, four earned, on seven hits. The right-hander struck out three and issued four walks for a second straight start.

The Stars lone run came on an opposite-field home run to left by Gemoll, his second of the season. Lerew limited the visitors to one run on three hits over six innings and has now allowed just one run on six hits with 14 strikeouts over 13 innings in two starts, which have produced two of his four victories on the season.

The home team put the game away with four runs in the sixth against Khalid Ballouli, making his second appearance in relief. Joseph singled home a pair, Scott Thorman drove in a run with a single to extend his hitting streak to 15 games and Timmons doubled home his second run of the night and finished with three hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Joseph knocked in four runs in a game for the second time this year and tallied three hits for a first time, while Hernandez chipped with three hits and two runs scored.

The series continues Wednesday night with southpaw Manny Parra getting the start for the Stars against Braves left-hander Matt Coenen. Coverage of the game gets underway at 6:50 p.m. central time on ESPN 1450 AM and through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com.

Final: Albuquerque (Marlins) 6, Nashville 3

Not playing a depleted New Orleans squad any more...

Nashville Site Game Summary:

ALBUQUERQUE ? A pair of former Sounds helped to end Nashville?s season-best four-game winning streak on Tuesday evening as the Albuquerque Isotopes extended their own win streak to six games with a 6-3 victory at Isotopes Park.

Third baseman Jason Wood (Sound in 2000-01) homered and drove in four runs and starting pitcher Ariel Prieto (Sound in 2003) threw 5 2/3 solid innings to earn the victory for the Isotopes. In addition to his offensive performance, Wood took away two runs from the Sounds with a pair of outstanding defensive plays from his post at the hot corner.

With the loss, Nashville (27-26) drops back to second place in the PCL American Conference Northern Division, one game behind Memphis. Albuquerque (31-22) picked up its league-leading 31st victory.

The Sounds struck first, taking a 1-0 lead on a pair of back-to-back two-out doubles by Prince Fielder and Corey Hart in the top of the first inning. The RBI two-bagger for Hart (2-for-4) extended the outfielder?s season-best hitting streak to nine games. Fielder?s double was the prospect?s tenth consecutive extra-base hit.

Wood knotted the contest with a two-out hit of his own in the bottom of the frame, plating Wilson Delgado with an RBI single off Nashville starter Jeff Housman.

Wood delivered again against his old club in the bottom of the third when he belted a two-out, three-run homer off Housman, his eighth roundtripper of the year, to give Albuquerque a 4-1 lead.

Ryan Knox pulled the Sounds within a run with a two-out, two-run double to the left-center gap in the top of the fourth. Hart and Julio Mosquera scored on the knock.

Albuquerque added a pair of insurance runs later in the contest. Isotopes left fielder Mike Colangelo upped the Albuquerque advantage to 5-3 in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI double. Matt Padgett, the Isotopes? top hitter, plated the game?s final run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to run the score to its final 6-3.

Rickie Weeks had his seven-game hitting streak snapped with an 0-for-3 effort for Nashville.

Prieto (3-2) earned the win after allowing three runs and striking out six over his 5 2/3 innings of work. Housman (2-4) took a loss for his third consecutive start after surrendering five runs on six hits in five frames. J.B. (formerly Bart) Miadich worked a scoreless ninth for Albuquerque to pick up his team-leading ninth save.

Right-hander Mike Adams made an impressive debut for the Sounds, retiring all six batters he faced, including three strikeouts, over two scoreless innings of work.

The teams meet again in the second game of the series at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday evening. Right-hander Rick Helling (3-2, 4.43) makes the start for Nashville on schedule, four days removed from having his left arm impaled by a piece of New Orleans catcher Craig Kuzmic?s bat on Friday at Greer Stadium. Albuquerque will counter with right-hander Jeff Fulchino (4-3, 5.26).

Nashville Box Score:

Has Jeff Housman maxed out his abilities at this point? It's been quite the climb for the 2002 33rd rounder...

I was able to attend this game. Anyone know whey Krynzel didn't play? I was kinda dissapointed that he wasn't in the lineup. It was nice to see Nelson play again, I saw him play when he was a junior in high school.

I wish the outcome would have been different since I was the only person rooting for the Sounds. Adams looked awesome in the two or three innings that he pitched. Housman made a couple mistakes, but other than the homerun to Wood and hitting Jergensen, I thought he looked solid. I'm glad they were able to take the other three games in the series.
