His bobblehead seems to be following the Minor League prohibition of facial hair, huh? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Lots of interesting probables today... Matt Childers and Travis Phelps are kind of "blah," but it would be nice to see Dennis Sarfate put together a nice start and Greg Moreira, Jesse Harper, Josh Baker, and Ben Diggins all bring different storylines to the table. Let's hope they all put together nice outings to coincide with Ben Hendrickson's first big league win.

Final, Game One: Richmond (Braves) 10, Indianapolis 5

13 in a row, and not in a good way...

Indianapolis Game One Box Score:

Ben Ford's been hideous in AAA as well as Milwaukee -- does consistency count for anything? Matt Childers, even in a scattered starting / long relief / closer role, needs to do better than this...

Long day, boys and girls, and I hate to tear away from an entertaining call of the Huntsville game (tie game 1-1 after seven), but I'll fill in any blanks in the AM -- everyone feel free to chip in during the overnight! Thanks!

Rivera replaces Adams and strikes out a guy, and then intentionally walks the next batter

so 2 out, runners at the corners

first pitch, 2nd base stolen - uncontested (hmmmm, you think it would have been worth a throw!)

announcer is worried about a walk, because some guy on deck named Paz is 'clutch'

hey... full count... strike out!!!!! on CURVE ball... Jenks impression by the batter, on the ground after the swing

Go, Huntsville!

9th, Gwynn fly out, Fielder groundball smash but stabbed by 2nd baseman, Nelson k'ed

Announcer says the Barrons run is unearned as Gwynn overran a groundball single, and let the runners advance, leading to a sac fly for Barrons in the 7th

Let's hope the game does not finish in the bottom of the 9th

Barrons batting, bottom of 9th

Richard Paz...single to left field on full count

Next batter bunts to hard to pitcher, so force out at 2nd

Next batter, fly ball to center, now 2 out

(Beloit up 9-2 into the 7th, putting up a 6 spot in the 6th)

Rivera still pitching, some guy named Yan is up, 0-2 count, now 1-2, then foul... next pitch ball

.but Alvardo guns down (easily apparently) running trying to steal 2nd (who happens to the Barrons catcher)

extra innings here we come...

Gann hits a rope down the third base line snagged by the third baseman... darn

Next batter... smash down the first base line... leap by Barrons first baseman... OUT... double darn

Chavez now batting... fly ball to center...

6 pitches... three out... triple darn

Jason Shelley in to pitch... facing 2 - 3 - 4 batters

(High Desert down 1-0 after three, they have no hits so far)

Yan hits a nubber just to the right of the mound, Shelley scambles and just gets the out

Announcer (Robert Portnoy?) is talking about how Shelley has been so good the last 4 appearances - 10 inns for 2 hits and 12 ks.

Darn, Shelley plonks the batter in the shoulder on a 0-2 or 1-2 count. Luckily, not tossed (as both benches warned earlier), but I guess we can figure Shelley did not want to hit the guy!

so 1 on and 1 out, bottom 10

hmmm, now ball, ball, ball and wild pitch, so runner goes to second, so now intentional walk

so 2 on, 1 out, bottom 10

hey, pop up!!!!!, foul to third.... two out

oh, oh, dangerous hitter up now, like Paz, ex AAA player named Bikowski... ha ha, we have our late 20s pitchers throwing to their late 20s batters...

0-2 count... and single... darn

Mav's down 2-0 in the middle of the 5th. They got robbed in the 4th on a 3 run homer to left field. Home ump ruled it gone, second base ump overruled him? Harper with 6 k's, but not much help in the outfield or at the plate.

Mav's down 2-1 after 5. Harper only went five tonight by design according to the announcer. Come to find out, Harper was throwing with a touch of the flu and was almost scratched from the lineup tonight.
