Don't know about y'all, but I'm looking forward to the first Helena box score of the season!

Ryan Anderson taking the hill for the Manatees today. Expect him to go somewhere around 30 pitches again. He will be piggybacking with another lefty Josh Habel who will come in the first full inning after Anderson comes out.

Why just the box score? Check out Missoula's audio after Cubs-Brewers, you'll likely hear the final few innings.

Thanks again, my Florida friend. If possible, include the next day's starter in future game recaps - gracias.

Vero Beach at Brevard County:

Game cancelled after two innings, rain -- I don't believe these stats will count, but check out the numbers in two innings for LHP Ryan Anderson. Since it's the last game of the first half schedule, the game won't be made up. Ben Diggins with a base hit...

Brevard County Site Update:

VIERA, FL -- After playing through steady rain for the first two innings, Tuesday night's game was halted due to rain. The game was eventually called after a 37 minute rain delay.

Since this was the final game of the first half of the Florida State League schedule the game will not be made up. Tomorrow's game versus the Vero Beach Dodgers will start the second half of the season with all teams cleaning out the record books and starting at scratch with 0-0 records.

Due to the rain the pitching rotation will have a bit of a shake-up as well. Carlos Villanueva's start will get pushed back a day and the Florida State League's reigning Pitcher of the Week Josh Habel will take the mound for the Manatees on Wednesday. He will be followed by Villanueva on Thursday and Luis Pena on Friday for Brevard.

Huntsville Site Game Summary:

Corey Smith singled home the game-winning run in the seventh inning to lift Mobile to a 7-5 victory over Huntsville in the first game of the second half of the season at Hank Aaron Stadium. The BayBears improved to 29-42 overall and won their third straight game over the Stars, who lost their second straight game to drop to 29-41 overall.

Paul McAnulty doubled with one out off of Khalid Ballouli, who threw scoreless relief in the fifth and sixth innings, and scored with two outs on a line drive single to left by Smith, the Cleveland Indians first round draft choice in 2000. Ballouli lasted three innings for a fifth time in seven relief outings but was saddled with his sixth loss of the season after allowing the decisive run on three hits, while striking out five.

Mobile tacked on another run in the eighth inning off of Mike Meyers on a fielder?s choice by Kennard Jones that plated Luke Carlin. Dale Thayer took over on the hill for the BayBears in the ninth inning and yielded a one-out walk to Tony Gwynn, Jr. and a two-out single by Vinny Rottino that moved Gwynn to third base before retiring Nelson Cruz on a fly ball to end the game and register his 14th save of the season.

The Stars scored four times in the seventh inning to get the game tied at five. Gwynn doubled inside the first base line to drive in Ben Van Iderstine and Callix Crabbe and came around to score with Jeff Winchester on a two-out, two-run single by Nelson Cruz, who extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

Mobile tallied five times in the fourth to take a 5-1 lead and marked the seventh time this season the Stars have allowed five runs in a frame. Smith tied the game with a run-scoring double and scored, along with Joe Gerber, on a bases loaded single by Casey Baker that put the home team on top, 3-1. Nelson Castro committed a throwing error that allowed another run to score and Jones singled home the final run of the frame.

Nelson Cruz opened the second with a walk, moved to second base on an infield hit by Castro but was thrown out at the plate trying to score on an Enrique Cruz single. Van Iderstine knocked in Castro with a single and Crabbe followed with a walk to load the bases but Stars? starter Ryan Costello grounded into an inning ending double play. The visitors amassed six hits and three walks in the first three innings against starter Sean Thompson but could only manage one run.

The four-game series continues Wednesday morning with left-hander Dana Eveland making the start for the Stars against BayBears right-hander Brian Whitaker. Coverage of the game gets underway at 11:50 a.m. central time on ESPN 1450 AM and through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com.

Nashville Site Game Summary:

ALBUQUERQUE ? Second baseman Warren Morris belted a pair of home runs and drove in four runs during a four-hit night to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 7-3 victory over the Albuquerque Isotopes on Tuesday evening at Isotopes Park in the opener of a four-game series.

With the victory, Nashville (39-34) increased its lead to a season-high 3 ½ games over second-place Memphis in the PCL American Conference Northern Division.

Morris ? who produced Nashville?s eighth two-homer game of the year ? spotted the Sounds a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning when he belted his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left-center off Isotopes starter Ariel Prieto. Dave Krynzel, who had doubled, scored on the blast.

Albuquerque quickly tied the contest in the bottom of the frame against Nashville starter Jeff Housman. Prieto doubled to open the frame and later scored on a groundout to put the Isotopes on the board. Chris Aguila knotted the score with a two-out solo homer to left, the outfielder?s fifth of the year and second in two nights.

Morris put the Sounds ahead once again in the top of the fifth inning with a one-out RBI single to plate Trent Durrington, who singled earlier in the frame to extend his season-best hitting streak to 13 games then stole his team-leading 20th base. Brad Nelson, who went 3-for-5 on the evening, made it a 4-2 Nashville lead with a two-out RBI single that scored Morris later in the frame.

Josh Willingham pulled Albuquerque within a run at 4-3 with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth.

Morris, who reached base in all five plate appearances, continued his solid night in the seventh when he belted his second home run of the contest, a solo shot to left off Prieto that chased the right-hander.

The Sounds increased the lead to 6-3 in the eighth against Isotopes reliever Pat Flury when Julio Mosquera plated Nelson with a sacrifice fly, then Nashville reliever Jose Capellan finished the night?s scoring with a run-scoring single to plate Durrington in the ninth.

Housman (3-6) earned his first victory in seven starts by allowing three runs (two earned) over six innings. Prieto (4-3), the former Sound, was tagged with the loss after surrendering five runs (four earned) in his 6 2/3 frames.

Capellan worked the final two innings in scoreless fashion to earn his second save of the year.

The teams continue the series with an 8:05 p.m. CT matchup on Wednesday evening. Sounds right-hander Rick Helling (5-3, 4.30) makes the start to face Albuquerque right-hander Jeff Fulchino (5-6, 6.42).

Tony Gwynn with a nice night in the leadoff spot -- unless you count getting picked off one inning and getting caught stealing the next time up

Don't forget the other CS and the error - I swear that the better TGJ hits, the worse he gets at every other aspect of his game. Maybe Rickie & Prince explained to him that the Brewers don't care about your D or your base running, hitting is the only thing that counts in this set up.

Still, despite the loss at least we battled in this one -Call me a fool, but I really do have hopes of a more competitive second half.
