Keep in mind that once you see the "cut-and-paste" versions of the box scores in the most recent Link Report, you can click on the word "Scoreboard" on the home page to see a complete listing of box scores, by far the easiest way to get perhaps a printed report of box scores only each day -- but we still want you to read all the details here http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

That's it for this Link Reporter until perhaps the late, late overnight. Unique opportunity this evening -- my daughter will be taking part in a special kids' clinic with the Red Sox coaches this afternoon at Fenway -- of course, that means perhaps a chance meeting with Dale Sveum http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

We then get bleacher seats for Indians - Red Sox.

You just can't escape the Red Sox here -- I don't dislike them, they're just obviously not my favorite team. But there literally isn't any escape from the obsession that is Red Sox baseball in New England. I respect that, but it is a bit over the top -- kind of like someone detailing every minutia of Brewer minor league baseball http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Some other interesting notes...

John Vanden Berg's OPS is up to .784 (.384 OBP, .400 slugging), with 20 walks (one every 5.1 ABs). This is good for fourth on the team, and ahead of everyday players Kennard Bibbs (17 in 217 ABs), Vinny Rottino (17 in 272 ABs), and Enrique Cruz (17 in 260 ABs).

Dave Krynzel is leading current Nashville players in RBI (40)and is second in stolen bases (11). Ironically, Corey Hart is leading current Nashville players in SBs (13), and is third in in RBI (33, behind Brad Nelson and Steve Scarborough at 34 apiece).

Will Lewis has been hit by the pitch 15 times - leading all current minor leaguers. The next closest is Steve Sollman with 13. No other current minor leaguer in the Brewers system had reached double figures in that total.

This is great. It is like bar talk. We all know what guys are doing and we all are sure who should be bumped up and there is a future.

By the way, in respect to Scoop (it was Scoop, wasnt it?), did you catch the bit about Hart talking about his slight elbow adjustment that is letting him come through the ball quicker and more level. He was upset he burned the first month, but says that hitch is gone and, in fact, it is easier to maintain this correct swing than the dud one. So he only sees he will improve.

well hoffy...

yes it was me who noticed harts elbow problems. And for the record I never said he was a bust. I said he was a future bust if he didnt change his hitting style/swing/approach/stance. Apparently he has done that and, by george, results. I guess my perceptions might not have been as completly outrageous and stupid as people thought.

Actually you just mentioned his elbow.

EDIT: So this is not calling him a bust?

That's OK. When Geoff Jenkins voluntarily retires and Hart gets promoted, there'll be a spot for Cruz in AAA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Put me on record as saying it is going to be ugly when/if Hart gets a chance in the big leagues. Early prediction. 1st 100 AB's, 12 hits, 2 doubles, 35 k's, O bombs.

He is a long way from being a major league hitter. Comparisons to Sexson are way off base.

I always pull for Brewer prospects but this is going to be ugly. He is the kind of guy who might find his stroke for a different organization when he is 28 or 29. He is no where close as far as I can tell.

Jenkins might be struggling but his horrid numbers would destroy anything Hart could be doing.

EDIT: Or this?

Why? Because I think Cruz projects to be a much better player than Hart? I have been saying that since day one. I stand by it. All these people who are expecting Hart to be the savior in right field for the Brewers are going to have a serious wake up call when he finally gets his chance. Its going to be ugly. Mark it down.

Homer, I think you need to give credit where credit is due. Hart did not specifically say how he figured out he needed an adjustment. I am sure (I guess!) he did not read it here. But, in any case, we sure should be happy.

I'll sure give credit to Hart. He's having a fine season.

Anderson struggled bad 1/3 IP 3 ER 2BB ERA up 2 6.30

why are the Crew wasting time Hart needs to be call-up NOW no reason to still be in Indy the only way i see him staying there is if they let him play in the All-Star game like Lil' Ben last year and then call him up. Wut is there left to prove? He is on fire. I agree that Cruz needs to be in Nashville all so.

While the space needle is more intriguing to follow, John Habel came in and had another very fine performance. He is yet another one of those sleeper pitching prospects having a fine season in the organization, of which we seem to have more & more of this season.

Who else is starting to get reallly concerned with Krynzel (if you haven't already)? While Hart keeps doing what he has always done (which is good) so is Krynzel (which isn't). From everything I've seen, heard and read, David is a really hard worker and a great guy, but he keeps striking out, he still is struggling on the basepaths, and he's just not hitting well, especially in a consistent fashion. It's been the same story ever since his brief stint at Beloit in 2001. I'm sure he'll have an amazing second half and prove me wrong, but his Jeckyll & Hyde impersonations are hard to swallow.

***EDIT: By the way, I think the Helena game in Missoula is being delayed and/or postponed. Not much in the way of a broadcast tonight, and weather.com shows some storms over most of Montana.
