Thursday's Daily Menu: Do you realize that with the addition of Helena and Arizona Rookie League action, your recommended daily allowance of Link Report has been increased by 50%? No price increase! And it's tasty, too!

All times Central, except for the Arizona League; pitchers subject to change --

Nashville: RHP Justin Lehr at Albuquerque (Marlins), 7:40 PM pre-game; 8:05 gametime

Audio link:

www.nashvillesounds.com/listenlive/

Huntsville: RHP Dennis Sarfate at Mobile (Padres), 6:50 PM pre-game, 7:05 gametime

Audio link:

www.espn1450.com/

If that link is down for bandwidth, use:

specs.eyecentric.com/pres...opup.shtml

Brevard County: RHP Carlos Villanueva at Palm Beach (Cardinals), 6:00 PM

Audio link (opponent's):

www.live365.com/cgi-bin/m...2747440343

West Virginia: RHP Josh Baker at Lexington (Astros), 6:05 PM

Audio link:

www.sportsjuice.com/provi...e=wvpower.

Helena: TBD at Missoula (Diamondbacks), 8:05 PM

Audio Link (opponent's):

www.1340kylt.com/

Arizona: TBD at home in Maryvale vs. the baby Athletics -- until later in the season, all Arizona League action takes place at 10:30 AM local time under the late-morning sun -- check them out if visiting, crowds normally number less than 20, good foul ball opportunities. The A's lost 4-3 in ten innings yesterday, there are nine teams in the league, so somebody's always idle each day. We'll have a box score usually by the late night, and not much else, unless we get a personal account. As of post time here, it's 102 degrees in Phoenix at 1:31 Arizona time. We will very rarely get starting pitcher info. And there's your Arizona League primer http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

Well, Rickie Weeks was the obvious choice until recently, but you know what, Trent has played well...

Link while active, text follows:

www.nashvillesounds.com/n...ewsId=1648

Infielder Trent Durrington has been named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team and will represent the Sounds on the 28-man squad that takes on the International League stars in the 2005 Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 13 at Raley Field in Sacramento, California. He was selected to the team as a reserve by the PCL office.

Durrington, 29, is batting .290 (65-for-224) with four home runs and 24 RBIs in a team-high 70 games for Nashville this season. The speedy infielder has started games at six different positions for Nashville (1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, RF), currently ranks third among Pacific Coast League batters with 20 stolen bases, and is tied for fourth among all minor league hitters with a league-leading 11 sacrifice bunts.

In addition, the Broadbeach Waters, Australia native currently leads the Sounds with 44 runs scored and is third on the club with 35 walks.

Durrington ? who is in his second season with the Milwaukee Brewers organization after opening his career with an 11-year stint in the Angels chain ? is currently riding a 14-game hitting streak, which matches the longest by a Sounds player this season (previously accomplished by Kevin Orie). Durrington is batting .351 (20-for-57) over that 14-game stretch.

The All-Star nod is the first selection of Durrington?s 13-year pro career.

Durrington is the first Nashville position player to garner a mid-season All-Star bid since infielder Mendy Lopez during the 2002 campaign. Current Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Dave Williams represented the Sounds in last season?s All-Star Game and Mark Corey, the Sounds? all-time saves leader, participated in the 2003 contest.

Nashville is one of six PCL clubs with one player named to the squad. Memphis (AAA-Cardinals) and Tucson (AAA-Diamondbacks) each had three players selected to lead the circuit.

The 2005 Triple-A All-Star Game will be broadcast on television on ESPN2 as well as on the radio on WAMB 98.7 FM & 1160 AM at 9:00 p.m. CDT.

Three former Sounds players have been selected to participate in the contest: Omaha outfielder Adrian Brown (Sound in 1998-2000, ?02), Indianapolis relief pitcher Mark Corey (2003-04), and Memphis starting pitcher Kevin Jarvis (2004).

we are coming out this weekend for a visit to provide a little extra cheer in the stands . Maybe they will let

kyle take some BP or infield if Money is in a good mood, so I hope they win the next 6 in a row.

See you there

Rotation shuffle, Yovani Gallardo starting tonight, Mark Rogers on Friday -- piggyback system shelved for now for those two youngsters; unclear at this time of the rotation beyond that for now, including Josh Baker...

Brevard County at Palm Beach (Cardinals), postponed, rain

The game will be made up Friday as a part of a doubleheader starting at 5:05 p.m. (4:05 Central).

Such is life in the Florida State League -- this has to be pretty disruptive overall. Remember last summer when the last two weeks of the season were pretty much wiped out by hurricane season -- that was pre-Brewers, of course.

In progress: West Virginia 3, Lexington (Astros) 2, bottom of the 4th in Lexington

What a fine professional broadcast from Andy "Bull" Barch with the Power. The Power have had two men thrown out at the plate...

The Stars and Dennis Sarfate have their first laugher of the year. They lead 14-3 in the 6th. Highlight was a record 12-run 5th inning (a record for that particular inning. It ties a club record that was set in 1988 and tied in 1993 and 1997.)

He can apparently hit too. Dennis Sarfate helping his own cause with a three run homer in the top of the 5th. It was Sarfate's second home run of the year and it was part of a Stars 12 run 5th inning that saw 17 Stars come to the plate.

Angel Salome watch: no home runs so far tonight but he does have a double.

It seems like there is an organizational epidemic of hitting and scoring runs today. Even West Virginia getting in on it. I feel spoiled.

Edit: Sarfate hit a 3 run shot not a grand slam. My bad.

Long game, but enjoyed the broadcast...

West Virginia Box Score:

Hasan Rasheed reaches four times; young Freddy Parejo shows promise often enough that Toby has hinted he's on the outskirts of the Power 50; Gallardo, Barnes, and Stanczyk all solid on the mound -- Yovani was around the 90-pitch count after his five innings...

RHP Justin Lehr is 7-for-11 at the plate this year -- that's .636

In progress: Huntsville 14, Mobile (Padres) 3, after seven innings

Vinny Rottino and Callix Crabbe with three hits to lead the way...

In progress: Helena 10, Missoula (Diamondbacks) 2, top of the 5th in Missoula

Offensive stars abound, and they're only halfway through -- Angel Salome already has three hits in this one...

By far, the best day/night the Brewer organization has had this season, kicked off by the big win in Miller Park today -- we'll take credit for promoting all the audio links tonight http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Just an amazing dominance by the Helena squad over Missoula this series -- it's now 14-3 H-Crew, having scored in every inning (they're in the 6th).

Angel Salome just collected his 4th base hit tonight, a double, and has eight RBI in the three games.

DFE Darren Ford is as exciting as advertised, and has reached base in all five plate appearances thus far (four hits, one BB).

Huge nights (again) for the middle infield combo of Kenny Holmberg and Ryan Crew -- all four players mentioned in this thread hitting .500 or better this week.

Wow...
