crowds this week for cards and reds games

At a start of a home stand I like to go to brewers.com adn check out what kind of tickets are there for the homestand, anyway for tuesday there are some tickets left, but for wednesday night and thursday afternoon are are alot of tickets left, and for the weekend friday there are some tickets left but my guess by friday they will be gone and for saturday and sunday only tickets they are selling are standing room only. So if you don't have tickets for this week there are still tickets left.

Yep, we're buying tiks for Thursday, and our choices are Loge Bleachers Family Section, and Terrace Reserved way down the lines.

Speaking of which, LF 4th level and Loge Bleachers...are they in the sun during day games?

Looks like about 240K for the 6 games, or maybe more...of course, Amoco filled the 4th level tomorrow night, that's only $1 each plus what BP pays for that promo.

I got a 4-pack for Christmas in the Loge Bleachers and oh my Jesus yes are those seats in the sun during day games!

Went to the SF Giants game last Saturday (the one on Fox) and my wife and I had to go to the concourse every other inning to cool off and stop sweating. For some reason the panels were closed, but the roof was open, which may have limited the airflow.

It was like Africa hot.

This is part of a new line of thinking the Brewers are using. The thought was that the open panels are cutting home run totals. Jim Powell talked about this a few weeks ago. He said he wasn't sure how true that was but said that was the plan for a while.

Anything on the left field side is in the sun for most, if not all, of the game. (more so as you get closer to the corner / oufield)

Thanks Dawg.

For some reason, I chuckled when I read this coming from Al.

I will be there on Saturday night, upper deck, right behind home plate. I can't recall the section, but 422 is sounding familiar.

The Brewers should surpass the 2 million attendance mark tonight, in their 58th home game of the year. The only year they hit 2 million more quickly (in the Miller Park era) was 2001, when they reached 2 million in the 57th home game.

I think it's going to be a pretty tough ticket to get for any Fri/Sat/Sun game for the rest of the year, because they're not going to fall out of contention at all. I was shocked that it had gotten to the point of being SRO, though, that doesn't happen very often, usually they have the 90% capacity sell-outs.

Me, too. I was like, "What's gotten into Al?", then I saw the username from the post above.

there was serious talk about closing the terrace level for some games

I remember that. We wondered if we would be relocated from our terrace season ticket section, and if so whether the Brewers would charge us more or just give us a crappy new location. Obviously, it never came to pass.

Attendance is great. I talked a few weeks ago about how the crowds, while populous, had large pockets of uninitiated fans who managed to stay quiet even while cheering (if that makes any sense). I've been waiting all year for a crowd like tonight. I don't think Miller Park has ever been louder. That was great.

I did find Prince's post game comment interesting though. If anyone missed it, CC asked him about the large crowds and the atmosphere at home and he said something along the lines of "It's great, but I wish they'ed stop boo'ing us, thats poor".

Anyhow, I can't wait for tomorrow. I hope the "MVP" chat is strong tomorrow.

"I kind of wish the fans wouldn't boo," Fielder said. "I wish they would stay positive like we are. They probably get frustrated as well, but this isn't New York. Hopefully, they can just stay in it, eliminate some of the boos and stay loud like that."

Yeah I saw that comment by Prince. I agree. We shouldn't act like New York fans. This will also come into consideration when free agents are thinking about where to sign. We can't pay as much as other teams, so we have to have some appeal.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Interesting that he mentioned it twice because that is a different comment. The one I was talking about came during his post game interview on FSN.

The appeal will be a chance to win.

  • 2 weeks later...
I have a $50 gift certificate that my beautiful wife got me as a Christmas present for tickets. I was going to take a couple of buddies this week, as the beautiful wife is out of town, but it just didn't work. I was STUNNED to see SRO tickets for $15. I love my Brewers, but I'll gladly spend that $15 on food and sit in the comfort of my living room to watch the game.

This is kind of funny, the Brewer game saturday is sold out and i just heard on tmj that the packers game saturday is not sold out, hmm things have changed, i kind of like that.

Ha I appreciate the sentiment, and its kind of funny how a first place brewers game in mid-august feels like it should play second fiddle to a preseason packers game, but thats usually the case.
