Anyone else a little surprised and pleased to see Ned Yost jr. having some success early on here.....

 

I realize he was a full term college player, but he was not terribly heralded.

 

This is the same league that my friend Jak Kraus (pronounced "Jake") 10 years ago hit .398 and was second in all of rookie ball in HR's and RBI's after going undrafted after five years at UWM (was a medical redshirt one year). He said that rookie ball is a step down from Division 1-A College ball. So it doesn't surprise me at all that Yost (and Katin and Braun) is hitting well in that league.

 

Not that I don't want NYJ to do well... I'd like to see what he can do behind the plate with a healthy wrist/hand next year.
