Transactions: Latest - RH reliever Wolfe signs 2006 contract

The Brewers have announced that RH reliever Brian Wolfe has agreed to a 2006 minor league contract. He was scheduled to become a free agent this November.

 

Wolfe was signed as a minor league free agent after the Minnesota Twins released him in May. The 24-year-old was the Twins' 6th round pick in 1999.

 

Wolfe shined with Brevard County and posted OK numbers after a call-up to Huntsville. He had struggled in the Twins' system at the AA level.

Can't complain about what Wolfe did for the Brewers this year. Almost 50 IP, and 1 HR allowed. He's a darkhorse for a 40-man spot if he does well in the AFL. Minnesota's loss is our gain.
