Dangit. I cranked the volume, so that's not the problem.

Jim, when you clicked on the web-cast link off of the Owlz' homepage, did it take you to a page that has the Owlz logo above a audio player, meaning, it didn't launch Quicktime, Realplayer, Windows Media Player, etc.?

No luck for Helena tonight but you have to love the way Inman pitched the whole season. 58 K's and only 11 BB's in 45 innings at helena as a 18 year old. 5 dingers but I'm not too concerned about that. He will be one to watch next year. Looks like off to WV for him next year.

Owlz oust Brew Crew

By KEVIN SHIVELY - IR Sports Writer

For the second year running, the Orem Owlz are the Pioneer League champions.

The Owlz won game two of the championship series 3-2 over the Helena Brewers, sweeping the best of three series and taking home the championship trophy for a second time.

"It feels great," said Orem centerfielder Stantrel Smith. "Guys on the team told me about last year so to be a part of it is really cool. We all wanted it so bad." Helena didn't make it easy on the Owlz. The Brewers were right on their heels the whole game.

"To beat this Helena club here is great," said Orem manager Tom Kotchman. "They're probably the best team in the league and it was a hell of a game, but anything can happen in a short series like this." Helena, who had the best record in the regular season and the best post season batting average only had four hits in the game.

"The name of the game was pitching," said Kotchman. "Pitching for both teams was great." Jose Arredondo pitched seven full innings of two hit baseball, striking out eight and allowing only one run.

That one run came in the bottom of the fourth when Ryan Crew scored on a single from designated hitter Angel Salome to centerfielder Stantrel Smith.

The Brewers scored again in the eighth to tie the game on an RBI single from pinch hitter Mat Gamel, but with two outs in the top of the ninth, Dallas Morris hit his second triple of the game to score Hainley Statia and put the Owlz up 3-2.

In the bottom half, Kenny Holmberg took a pitch on the leg to lead the inning off, but Salome hit into a double play and Ned Yost grounded out to end the game.

"It was a great experience," said Holmberg. "To get to a championship series is pretty exciting, but you know, one team has to win and one team has to lose so hats off to Orem." Kotchman had nothing but praise for the Helena second baseman.

"I have no idea why Holmberg wasn't an allstar this year," said Kotchman. "In my book he's the MVP of the league." Before the game, Holmberg was leading the league in post season hitting, with a .667 average and a pair of homeruns.

Will Inman started on the mound for the Brewers. Inman, 6-0 for the year, pitched into the sixth, striking out eight and allowing only two runs.

Brandon Parillo pitched the rest of the game, striking out five and allowing only two hits and one run.

"Its tough to lose but you just have to keep playing hard," said Holmberg. "As a player you just try to climb the chain and hopefully one day you'll make it to the bigs."
