LHP Mitch Stetter was asked to save an 8-5 9th inning lead, but couldn't, and was pulled prior to the completion of a four-run rally that sealed a 9-8 loss for the Javelinas.

Honestly, if you look beyond raw numbers in Huntsville and Nashville, Stetter hasn't been very impressive for months now.

Corey Hart with a pinch-hit HBP and later homered, as did Prince Fielder (noted above). Prince finished 1-for-5. Day off for Alcides Escobar.

Not as detailed a recap as usual, but the game box/log link is just a few posts up for you.

Some people might feel Prince is just copping out on playing this fall but when somebody leaves for personal reasons I don't believe it's anybody's role to judge him if we aren't in tune to the situation.

Especially somebody like Prince who has had some genuinely strong personal situations to deal with.

I'm not saying anybody has said anything but I'm sure some will think he's just using personal reasons as an excuse for laziness.

You're absolutely right, but I have to admit, the same thing crossed my mind that crossed BrewCrewIn2004's. If there hadn't been a peep about him not wanting to participate in the league it wouldn't have even crossed my mind, but I guess the series of events from him hiring Scott Boras to trying to get out of playing in the league to this has me a little bit skeptical.

But you're right, he has had to deal with quite a bit over the last few years, and whatever the reason is I hope he is able to resolve it.

It looks like the story on the Brewers web page was modified slightly. Before I swear it said he left for "personal reasons'. Now it says he left due to a "family health problem". I sure hope everything goes well for Prince in the offseason.

He did eventually show up instead of making a big stink about it. That's why I'm more willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Of course any possibly personal problems for our up and coming star have to be concerning. That's why if there is something going on, let him deal with it early this offseason and hope he's ready to play ball in the spring.

Trust me, I'm more than willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It just seems like a little case of "the boy who cried wolf" to me.

And I too remember the story saying "personal reasons" and not "family health problem." Good catch Anders. Best wishes to Prince and his family.

Of course, Mitch Stetter has been groomed to be a lefty specialist for some time now. Both Drew Olson and surprisingly Adam McCalvy, refer to him as "righty" in their articles.

At some point, you'd think that news about Chris Saenz and the Brewers not coming to terms will sneak into a notes column.

By the way, no AFL game Tuesday -- rainout.

From yahoo:

Brewers first baseman Prince Fielder has taken a temporary leave of absence from the Arizona Fall League. "His wife (Chanel) is pregnant," Brewers general manager Doug Melvin told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "She had some issues and was going to see a doctor, so he went home for a while. We're expecting him to go back."

Hey DHonks, have you seen Stephen Drew yet?

yeah, just served him breakfast about 3 hours ago. He looks incredibly patient at the plate, and the ball just explodes off his bat. It's amazing, cause when I first saw him, I shook my head and said "this kid can play SS, hit, and just got like $4 million???" He's not a big kid...I think if he were the type to go cruising for women in Tempe-ASU bars, nobody would believe that he's worth that much or a professional baseball player (of course, he's not that type). But on the field he does amazing things. He's a hard worker, a gifted athlete, and a deeply religious young man.
