Also pretty sure about the PTBNL in the CC trade, so much so I informed the player today. Wont be announced until after the world series, or at least that is my understanding.
At least that means it's not Lucroy.

Battlekow, please excuse my potential ignorance on this question, but...How so?

Agent39 represents Brantley and Green, but does not represent Lucroy.

I tell you what, wherever JJ starts, if he puts together the kind of season i think he is capable of, he will be on the short path to the bigs. I honestly think after having watched some of the talented young pitchers that the Brewers have pass through Charleston, that it's just a matter of time on guys like Jeffress. When he pitches with some more solid guys behind him, I say watch out! Seems like a lot of the real young guys will have one really bad inning in an outing that scues their stats, when it usually is a mental issue more so than a pitching issue.

Interview announcement

--------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone, just an FYI, but Josh Kusnick (Michael Brantley's agent) will be on my radio show this Thursday at 9:30pm ET. The direct link to Thursday's show is below:

www.blogtalkradio.com/TheClevelandFan/2 ... d-Fan-Live

Josh will be on for a few segments and my co-host Paul and I will ask the obvious questions pertaining to the Indians trade for Brantley and other things, and the phone lines will be open for anyone who wants to call in to speak to Josh and ask whatever they want. Phone number to call is 646-716-8012.

Michael Brantley himself is also schedule to be on, but as an FYI will not be taking calls from the fans (only his agent). As a reminder, for those that cannot listen live, the show is podcasted and can be downloaded and listened to at anytime by visiting the link I provided above or at www.blogtalkradio.com/theclevelandfan .

Hope many of you tune in, and remember the show is still a WIP.;-) Should be an informative hour. Josh is not what you would expect from an agent, and makes for an awesome interview. And this should be the first radio/TV interview in Cleveland for Brantley.

Random aside and shameless plug

MILWAUKEE-During the second half of the 2008 season, third baseman Taylor Green had a few things on his mind.

Actually, he mostly had one thing on his mind: Would he remain a Brewer or was he headed to the Indians?

Speculation as to the identity of the player to be named in the C.C. Sabathia trade began almost as soon as the trade was announced in early July. It didn't take long for that speculation to center on two lefthanded batters: Green, who was playing at high Class A Brevard County, and Double-A outfielder Michael Brantley.

Agent Joshua Kusnick knew exactly what each was going through, as he represented both players.

Green, a 25th-round draft-and-follow in 2005 out of Cypress (Calif.) Junior College, made the Florida State League all-star team at midseason and finished the year batting .289/.382/.443 with 15 home runs and 73 RBIs 114 games. His season ended prematurely when he was hit on the left wrist by a pitch, forcing him to miss the last three weeks.

"It was a pretty interesting situation," Green said. "I was wondering what was going to happen. I tried to keep a level head and just keep playing hard, and not worry about it.

"That was tough to do the first couple of days (after the trade). Then, after that, it was no problem at all."

As it turned out, there was one last twist to the Sabathia deal. The agreement was that if the Brewers made the playoffs, the Indians would get to choose the player. If the Brewers fell short, they made the call. The Indians announced that they had chosen Brantley to complete the deal a few days after the Brewers clinched the wild card.

"I was really happy when I heard I wasn't traded," said Green, 21, the Brewers' minor league player of the year in 2007. "I came up with the Brewers and they've given me a great opportunity. I wanted to stay in the organization."

The Brewers gave Green another opportunity when they assigned him to play in the Arizona Fall League.

MICROBREWS

• The Brewers re-signed lefthanders Lindsay Gulin, Sam Narron and Chris Narveson and righthander Joe Bateman to minor league deals with invitations to spring training. Each spent all or most of the 2008 season at Triple-A Nashville.

• Catcher Angel Salome was having trouble with soreness in his throwing arm in the AFL and had been shut down for several games.
