It's actually easier than you might think to set your blog up for RSS.

Just go into the 'Settings' for your blog, click on the 'Site Feed' tab, and change 'Allow Blog Feeds' from 'None' to 'Full.' That's all there is to it.

Agent 39....are you going to have any clients assigned here to Charleston this season? When will those guys find out about their assignments?

I think friday we'll know more about everyone. Nick Tyson and possibly Brent Brewer will be in WV this year.

Thanks

J

Getting hammered on the draft. Scouts calling daily. It's so stupid. We go through the motions every year just with different kids. The scouts know their position and I know mine. They know I know what I am doing and still they think they can break me. It's such a stupid process but it's part of the job and I deal with it gracefully. I'm good at it too. You do something for enough years you should be good at it and thankfully I am. Modest too evidently......

Can you fill us in on this? I didn't realize there would be a scout / agent relationship at this point (pre-draft). How so, and what are they doing to you at this point that is so upsetting?

I love everyone, it's just the same stuff over and over again. Lots of the same questions from lots of teams. Just part of the job.

Examples? Remember, we don't know your business. What are these questions? So they have questions about amateur kids that you've already entered into agreeements with, either as advisor or agent?

I answered the question. It was intentionally vague. I have no agreements with any amateur players what so ever. It's not allowed and I dont do that. Ill get calls about kids some guys havent seen just the whole process is very time consuming and meticulous.

While I think we all appreciate the small glimpse into the sports world that you provide us through your blog, do you constantly have to post "updated" posts?

To me, this is a glaringly self-promotional thread you started and keep 'updating' just to keep in it front page in the minor league forum. If you want to advertise yourself, your agency, and your blog, I suggest you talk to Brian about buying some sort of advertising on the site. You said yourself that you know players visit this site, so what better way to pimp your services than to buy some advertising? I think it is certainly better than keeping this mockery of a thread alive.

Personally, I'm tired of seeing this at the top of the minor league forum every day. And, yes, I know I don't to click on the thread and I don't have to read what is written. I realize that. However, I think it is high time someone called this 'thread' what it is really is: free advertising for you and your business.

Man I must have upset you to garner that response. I'm providing a pretty good story for this site totally free of charge. If you dont care to read what I'm posting here by all means ignore my postings. Ive provided this site access to all of my clients and I talk to these guys whenever they call me or contact me. I dont feel obligated to have to answer to you and in a few year when these guys get promoted even higher I really doubt people (and really in this case, one person) would be so offended by my postings. Nobody gets to see what goes on behind the scenes and in lieu of posting random stuff on the boards which I did all throughout last season (go check its there), I am just linking to the blog. I don't have anything to sell to the fans and this is not a means of advertising.

I know all the players anyway, why would I have to convince them to hire me via a message board when I can just call them or go see them? I promise you almost everyone in the organization knows me and it's not because of Brewerfan.net. What exactly am I selling here or on my blog? Nothing. Everyone knows who these guys are anyway and it's not as if the companies zero in on fan sites to figure out their marketing strategies. Give me a break, it's just a message board. If the people that run the site want me out of here I would be happy to cease my assistance to them if it is becoming such a burden.

Thank you for your interest.

J

What we'd like to suggest to Josh our agent friend at this time, is that we are reminding everyone that if you wish to follow Josh's blog closely, to add his site to your Favorites list at this time and check in regularly there. Brewerfan staff will be following the blog similarly, and when a specific blog entry contains Brewer-related insights of value, staff members here will update the thread with a link specific to the entry. This seems to be the best compromise. Josh, if you have direct posts you wish to make here that Brewer fans would find of merit, hopefully you will continue to feel free to do so. We've appreciated your insights, but it is true that with so many bloggers out there these days, we can't have folks letting us know directly about each and every update. Thanks.

Well since the draft is coming up and the blog is going to be left off this thread does anyone want to email me any questions as per the draft at scorolen17@aol.com? Let me know.

Also Eric Newton is close to signing with an indy league team so will keep everyone posted on that.

Thanks again for having me here

I had absolutely no idea where to post this but enjoy

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/18737-The-Top-102-Prospects-Who-Have-Yet-to-Play-in-MLB

"102. Michael Brantley, OF, Brewers (Huntsville)

Brantley has a career .400 OBP and runs well. He'll have nearly a full season's worth of AA-ball under his belt before his 21st birthday in May. A lack of power hinders his upside, but he could wind up being similar to Scott Podsednik, if not better. "

It is surprising to me to see LaPorta ahead of Jay Bruce. It is also interesting how different the opinions must be on Gamel and Escobar. I dont often see Brantley ahead of them as prospects (or Jeffress and Salome with their suspensions for that matter)

On a side note, and definitely not wanting any part of the Linebrink trade debate, on that list Garrison is at 91 and Inman is at 48.
