Josh, thanks for calling today, and thank you for writing the BP article on Tyler. I can only imagine what it's like at the players' hotel at the lowest levels - Domincans, high school kids, college guys, all thrown together in their first experience with pro ball. That has to be a zoo.

Let us know if you get the new client you mentioned to me today.

Folks, keep an eye on Brandon Diaz, there's no way that young man should have lasted until the 8th round last year. He'll be in Appleton next year, and I have a feeling he'll quickly become a favorite here on the site.

Josh, recently saw stat analysis that favorably compared Michael Brantley to Mike Trout in many categories.

Congratulations on having a bona fide superstar talent in your stable, and from all indications, just a fantastic person, role model, etc.

If you could, can you let us know just how different and demanding it is handling things for Michael? He must be in super-demand, and of course, his opportnities off the field must be without limits right now.

So yes, of course, all your clients are special and receive your attention, but I guess what I'm asking is what things are you involved with for Michael now that even you say to yourself, wow, we've really got a brand name here and it's taking you to places, events, and people even you might not have imagined when you entered the business.

Thanks.

I really treat everyone the same. Micahel and I have a unique relationship. He was a groomsman at my wedding and one of my dear friends. I never look at him as "the superstar" though I jokingly call him and one other guy the franchise, and they hate it, but he's the same guy personality wise today that he was in 06. He's one of the 5 best men I've known and his stardom couldn't have happened to a better person. He's the one that got away for MIL for sure. He's going to win at least 1 batting title before he retires

Josh has Jeffress success so far this year had anything to do with being in a familiar surrounding with the Brewers organization?

It seems as though Jeffress has found himself again though he wasn't pitching all that bad with the Blue Jays earlier this year and I am still a little dumbfounded why they designated him. Hopefully he continues his success with the big league club.

My plan for JJ when he was DFA was to elect for UFA regardless. Any time a team dfa's you 99.9 percent of the time you're not in their plans. Once UFA opened 10 teams contacted me. Ive been JJ's agent since 07. I know him as well as any player I have and he's like my brother. I've been there for all the ups and downs. I genuinely felt in order for him to reach his vast potential he had to come home. Two clubs made amazing offers to JJ that would have put him in the majors sooner that Milwaukee but in the big picture I always felt that this move had to happen for him to excel and I really did envision the headlines that came today. Today made me feel like I did a really good job for my client. It's one of the best non monetary rewards of my career and now the rest is on him. A big reason he came home was the clubs infrastructure of Doug,Gord,Reid, Diggs, and Chuck Caufield and it worked. I planned all of this but he did the work. Now we just have to sit back and see what happens.

Plans like this rarely work out but it was a unique opportunity and I felt like I said was the best big picture situation for him. He already was with 2 clubs that had no history with him and the results weren't what we'd hoped for. This time just feels different. It feels he's right at home.

Josh, it was great to see Jeffress do well when I was at the game on Wednesday. Ironically, I was only in Milwaukee because I flew home to bury my brother (43 years old) who recently OD'd. I don't know if it's fair to say that JJ was addicted, but we know he has had many forks in the road and he's now choosing to take the road of sobriety (with drugs, not necessarily alcohol). I will continue to root for JJ as not just a Brewer, but also as someone who is now making better choices, just as I wish my older brother would have.

One question...has JJ embraced his late-innings role, or does he have some desire to give starting another try? I think of guys like Adam Wainwright who had to become good relievers before they could become good starters. We already have Thornburg and Smith as guys that could potentially start one day, and I'm just curious of JJ's goals.

DHonks, I'm very sorry to hear about your brother. I hope you and your family are doing okay. That's a great perspective to bring to the Jeffress discussion. It really does feel good to root for a guy who seems to have overcome some rough stretches.

Sorry about your brother man.

Jeremy will never start ever again. Never.

Toronto against our wishes tried it in the D.R. last year and the experiment lasted exactly 1 inning. Hes going to close. Im so excited
