Is it to cheer it up as half our farm system has been promoted (Villy, Gallardo, Braun, Parra), traded (Inman, Garrison, Thatcher), or injured (Rogers, LaPorta, Braddock) or suspended (Salome).

My current top 5 position player follow list include:

1. Gamel

2. Brantley

3. Ford

4. LuCroy

5. Gillepsie

Top 5 pitcher follow list:

1. Jeffress

2. Miller

3. Amundsen

4. McClendon

5. Welch

Pretty slim pickings for how spoiled we have been in the minors that last 3 or 4 years.

While I share your enthusiasm on Lucroy, it's too early to put rookie league stats into any semblence of potential. That's also true for Gillespie IMO, although I am regularly shouted down on him. Brewer and Cain would be my 4 and 5 for position players.

That would also be my observation on Anundsen as well. While he too is intriguing, putting up good rookie level #'s is nice, but at least produce some in A ball before making this list. Dillard would be on my list(for now) instead.

I disagree with your pitchers...

1. Jeffress

2. Bryson

3. Tyson

4. Periard

5. Seidel/Anundsen

For position players I'd go.

1. Salome

2. LaPorta

3. Gamel

4 - 5 could be anyone from Brewer/Green to Brantley/Cain to Gindl/Lucroy to Ford/Gillespie. Based on raw tools I'd lean toward Brewer/Gindl

edit. Fixed Anundsen's name.

Sorry I should be more more clear.. I didn't mean to say these were the top prospects just the ones I most likely look for first when checking box scores..

Taylor Green would be 6 on my list..

I agree that I don't get really excited until a hitter starts hitting in Brevard County or a pitcher starts pitching in Huntsville.

We probably shouldn't turn a Link Report into a thread ranking prospects.

Fine though it was meant to be a list of what prospects you like to follow which I thought was the intent of the link report.

which I thought was the intent of the link report.

Yes, the LR is great for following your favorite prospects. My point (to everyone, not you specifically) was just that if people wanted to have a discussion about which prospects they like to follow (by all means!), it would be preferable to start a new thread devoted to discussing exactly that, rather than the LR, which is meant just to have news about that day's games.

does anyone have a number for how many games have been rain outs for the manatees?

How about just the number for July?

It's too many, either way. (because I currently check on Gamel first, used to be a tie, salome/gamel.)

Holy Calix Crabbe. 3-3, with 2 homers. Stars up 3-1. Calix will play MLB.

Figures, after I posted his about OBP being higher than his SLG most years he's been a machine. I should maybe post a negative observation everyday about a player and we'd have the most productive system in the business. Gamel did that too, right after I called his SLG to that point in season, TGJ like...

Brantley's SLG is now 60ish points below his OBP. This virtually garuntees 5 HRs in the next month.

Jeffress loses control in the 5th. I blame Kevbo the Jinxer. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Oh well, striking out 10 through the 1st 4 is still big time dominant.
