Link Report for Games of Tuesday, August 29th

Mass Haas

the most amazing thing about this season is that we've got a guy who might be the minor league pitcher of the year in Yovani.

and we've got another guy that we can speak about in the same breath...who's is actually having a better year in WV than Yo did...

and neither of these guys were first round picks...so we've still got the top picks lingering around some where (some dude named ryan braun?)

the more i think about it, the more i think that Will will start next year in AA, especially if Brevard is still the high A team..

Brewers take advantage of wild Rockies

By TOM STUBER - IR Sports Writer

Casper catcher Steven Suarez probably can?t wait to get out of Helena.

The fact his team got squashed by the Brewers 8-3 is the least of his woes after he worked a game that saw his pitchers throw seven wild pitches and he had three passed balls and an error.

All that a day after he was drilled in the nose by a foul tip while standing behind the batting cage.

At least his nose isn?t broken.

Obviously it wasn?t a gem of a game to watch, but Helena saw glitter in the win, but got no help as Billings and Missoula were both victorious.

The Brewers still trail Missoula by three games in the overall standings, which is one option for making the playoffs. Option two sees them four games behind Billings for the second half title.

Casper struck first with a solo homer in the second by Logan Wiens and took a 2-1 lead in the third before Helena took a ride on the Rockies? wildness express.

Helena scored three times in the fourth on a walk, hit batter, double, wild pitch, sacrifice and error.

The fifth saw the Brewers plate a pair this time aided by two passed balls, a wild pitch and a walk.

Helena had just five RBI as two runs scored on wild pitches and one on an error.

Andy Bouchie provided the biggest hit of the game when he doubled home a pair in the fourth. Bill Rowe had a pair of singles and was hit by a pitch.

Three Brewers - Cole Gillespie, Chris Errecart and Rowe - scored twice.

The Rockies outhit Helena 9-8, but that was negated by six walks and the aforementioned miscues.
