Best Way to Get Tickets At Wrigley?

I'm going down to Wrigley on Friday with a friend and I was wondering if anyone knows of any good way to find reasonably priced tickets down there. I realize their "fans" are willing to pay $100/ticket to sit in the upper deck but I'm not gonna do that. Anyone been down there before? Will we be able to find tickets for around $30 a piece?

Just snoop around the outside of the stadium and there are usually people trying to get rid of some. I have been pretty lucky with that method in the past if I don't go down with tickets. Don't pay over the amount you want to and if you are patient, you should come up with some for a decent price.

Idiots would pay that much. ($100.00 for upper grandstand)

I never understood when people say it's impossible to get tickets to Wriggley. It's usually Kenosha Cubs fans who are scared to go to Chicago.

I just buy them off guys on the streets. Buy them from the guys who run the little parking lots in the area. You'll pay little over face if you haggle right. And if you wait for the game to start you'll really get a deal.

Remember it's on you. They're going to try and get what they can. Walk away and talk to other people.

Although a Brewers ticket might be a little harder to get.

If you want to do the 21st century route, my friends and I got tickets for Friday off the internet for like $45. Upper Deck. Don't ask me where, my friend in Chicago bought 'em, but I believe it was either StubHub or Craigslist.

The best way would be to just beat up a sCrub fan and steal his ticket, but it would make you pretty easy to find for about 3 hours.

Play hardball with the scalpers. By the time the game starts, they'll be pretty much willing to take whatever while still retaining face for the tickets (ie don't offer $5).

You can always get a ticket for the games here, the only way someone spends $100 for upper deck is if they are playing the Cardinals for the playoffs. Go on Sheffield south of Addison, the scalpers all line up there all the way to Newport. Also cruise by the outside bars like Murphy's and Bernie's because people will stand by the rail selling. If the weather is good, which it is supposed to, availability will be tighter but you should get a seat for no more than $40.

Don't kid yourself, the Cub fans are getting all worked up over their recent hot streak. There is a buzz about this upcoming series. So this won't be business as usual for a Cub-Brewer series.

I believe this will be similar to Cardinal games when both teams are decent.

I live in Chicago and agree w/ one of the previous posters in that the baby bear fans are getting all worked up over this series. Therefore, it will probably be tougher and/or more expensive to get tix for this series than it usually is. I would compare it to a cardinal series at this point.

Side note: had an argument at work w/ a cubs fan b/c he said koyie hill will be better this year, offensively, than estrada b/c he's finally "getting a chance" to prove himself (honestly!). Great guy but ignorant as hell.
