Front Page Story

If I were to criticize brewerfan.net for anything, it would be for lack of updates to the homepage stories. Despite having a former Milwaukee brewer being voted into the hall of fame, the same prospect list story sits atop. I realize it's the off-season, but the same thing happens during the season.

 

While anyone involved with this site knows it's always active, one would never guess that by looking at the front page.

I have to disagree. During the season there are many times that articles don't last more than a few days on the front page because they get bumped by new stories.

 

Also, all of the articles are contributed by posters here and are rarely if at all solicited. If you think there's a lack of stories in the offseason then you should write one.

Heh, fair enough. I didn't realize they would accept articles from people "outside the loop." I know the daily brew was written pretty often, but that isn't on the top of the page.

 

The main article seemed to be updated maybe once a week during the season. If my recollection truely is that inaccurate, I appolgize. It's not like I started this thread to to be overly critical. I like brewerfan.net! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

It's a legitimate gripe rluzinski. There really haven't been as many fresh articles on the homepage as what there used to be. Of course, it's easier to notice at this time of year, but even during the summer months a few stories lingered on longer than they should have.

 

And everyone is welcome to submit a story, that is part of the original intent of this site. I'm sure several people will be anxious to come up with a season preview story. I do have a few stories of my own that will likely be coming out towards the end of this month & the end of February. I plan on doing a preview of the rotation...but its kinda pointless right now...as the free agent (for the brewers that would be minor league) signing period isnt really over...and i guess there is atill a chance or two that the crew will sign someone else...

 

at least we don't have que and campos anymore....

I understand. I wasn't trying to be overly critical (I'm extremely busy so my replies are just short, when I get more time then I can be intentionally difficult http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ). I think it's a good idea for anyone interested to submit an article for brewerfan.net. It can't hurt and you might actually enjoy the process since it isn't a forced excercise like in school.

I agree completely, the same story seems to be on the front page for long periods of time. I realize it is the offseason as well, but it can just be little things that are changed on the frontpage, just so it isnt so borring looking everytime everyone opens it. I love this site, but that would be a complaint of mine.
