Well, I certainly am amazed at how this site does strange things to me.

 

I started to post again, and suddenly, wham, my account will not work anymore. It must have been deleted, because I have been able to create an account again with the exact same user id and password that I have had for two years.

 

No, strangely I have been able to create the same account TWO times now. So now I am guessing some wonderful wag decided to create H0FFY with a new password.

 

So, Brian, there is a wee hole in your web site. The same account can be created again and again, and I guess any wag can disable somebodies account by creating the same account over the top of it.

Well Brian, I created H0FFY a third time, with a new password. And I must use the new password to log on.

 

So, I know what happened. I am so flattered that because I dont agree with the clan that the clan tries to ban me. Or at least one odd member of the clan.

 

Anyway, I have proved that anyone can create the same userid as any poster and with the new account, the new password will prevent the original user from accessing.

hmmmm, seems now I can log in with EITHER password, so I am stumped. I thought the new password overwrote the old. So, sorry, Brian, I am doing some testing for you.

 

I will try to post with '7' password and the '8' password. I hope only ONE works.

How exactly is it Brian's fault for an EZBoard message board? Brian has no control over any type of account deletion. And moderators certainly don't have that power. They can delete posts, but not entire accounts.

Why is it that as soon as you have a problem you jump to an extremely paranoid & hasty conclusion? I enjoy your contributions here when you're not feeling sorry for yourself.

 

And that is pretty sad that you have to spread spiteful words on a different message board just because your account seems to have a glitch.

 

As Kat said, Brian doesn't have much control over the entire message board system. If you have a problem with it I've always thought it has been wise to first question ezboard. When in doubt, locate another forum that uses the ezboard format & see if your problems continue.

well Brian, I think I did say it was a problem with the site; but that I was sure you would fix it; and I think your site is great; I assumed that since I can recreate the problem and FIX the problem by using the brewerfan.net create an account - then it was a brewerfan.net problem

 

and I really do assume someone did the same to me; but recreating my account over the top; so I assume some wag at brewerfan is responsible

 

but if that is all run by ezboard, then it is their problem - and it is a pretty big problem if accounts are not secure

 

but to be honest, my history here is not a happy one... cant post, posts edited, posts deleted, account deactivated; I could live with all that if I thought all here was one big happy family, but there are sure a lot of egos running around; so my assumption is always a conspiracy

 

and you can see the posts that already show up here; 'how can you blame Brian"; some make a joke

 

so the first words out of many peoples mouths are: "oh, it cant be true, it is your problem hoffy"

 

anyway, I think I will go back to my espn, but it is really unrewarding there these days; about 1% baseball talk; but I always prefer an open forum; but maybe no forum is best; I can have closed and controlled but clever or open and stupid... what a choice

Are you talking about the Brewerfan.net login, or the EZboard login? They are entirely two seperate entities. The Brewerfan.net login does a whole lot of nothing at this point, while the EZboard login controls the message board.

Read on the login page:

 

"Brewerfan.net maintains TWO sets of logins. One is used for most for brewerfan.net specific features, the other is used for the message boards and for the chat room. This is because the message boards and chat room are hosted by an external service."

 

I'll post some additional text later tonight to make this clearer. And yes, you can create additional brewerfan.net (not message board) logins for yourself, but it really has no effect at this point.

Seriously though Hoffy, the reason we defend Brian and don't believe you were blacklisted is that you've not nearly offended anyone to the extent that several others have, and they haven't been banned until they had repeatedly said really stupid stuff. Plus, as I understand it, when people are banned it isn't done by telling EZboard not to let you log in to a global EZboard account, it's done by banning your IP address from access to this site.

I've had problems logging in many times. Sometimes when I click on a forum I'm logged in, and then am logged out when I click on an individual thread. Like almost anything computer-related, EZboard has shortcomings and obvious glitches, that's the real problem.
