Major League Board

I can't get the Major League forum to work. All others work fine. When I click the link I get the following:

I am going through some serious Major League Board withdrawal here. I am about to have a panic attack.

This is painful. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/sick.gif

Yikes, this is ungood. Hopefully just a temporary thing... I'm sure Brian will post here when he gets a chance.

Hang in there, all! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Darn it. MassBrew beat me to it http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

Anyway, I was going to suggest that this would be a good time to try out the chat room if you're itching to talk about Brewers baseball.

PJ520,

From Brewerfan.net Site & Financial FAQ:

Why do you choose to use ezBoard for your fan forum instead of running it "in house"?

Having another service manage your message boards has its advantages and its disadvantages. While it's hard to integrate with ezBoard, programatically, it's been very helpful not to have to worry about the traffic to the forum. ezBoard also provides a fairly detailed set of functionality that I haven't seen offered (or at least exceeded) by other bulletin board softwares out there such as phpBB. As traffic increases and I have the time, I fully plan on writing my own forum software that has customized features that are applicable towards the baseball world, but of course, there are only so many hours in the day.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Okay, we have a crisis situation here. The Major League Forum is still not working. Someone needs to call 9-1-1 and get some emergency help to fix the Major League Board. This is becoming unbearable for us regulars who are addicted to talking about the Brewers.

Brooks Kieschnick just got released and I am going crazy not

being able to talk about it. I almost considered going to the ESPN board and then I came to my senses.

I can't deal with this.

I need alcohol right now.

C'mon over. The fridge is stocked for the season to begin.

[ How much is "a ton"? I get 120GB/month on my service, and I don't pay that much for hosting. (My plan is usually ~$10/month, but I paid $9.12 for an entire year as part of a promotion.) ]

The message boards use 31 GB per month, as it is right now. Part of what's not factored into the massive bandwidth-type accounts is CPU usage. With ezBoard, it's all measured by page views, so CPU usage is pretty much free. Many of the other accounts start jacking up the price if you begin to use too much memory or CPU.

My Brewerfan.net server is a bit more expansive than your normal el-cheapo account because I need the ability to set up custom software. I can't just take a server with MySQL and PHP and be done with it. Eventually I hope to get to a point where i'll host Brewerfan and the fan forum on a really great dedicated server, so I can write my own baseball-oriented fan forum software. Until then, I really don't feel like starting over with a new forum software/host.
