I'm goin' to the game thread?

I know it would increase page views, but maybe it'd be possible to have a thread stickied (is that a word?) where you can say I'm going to so and so game and will seat in this location.... It's a possible way for BF.Netters to hang out, be seen and become a comanding force within the hallowed foul lines known as Miller Park.

example:

4-18's game I'm sitting in sec.423 row 4 seat 4&5 stop by for a beer or soda and some ball talk.

OR

I'll be in from out of town, I live on Mars. I will be at May 6th's game against the Mets. I have tickets for sec.217 row 9, seats 10-13. Please stop by and see my ray gun. I've never been to Miller Park and would like a tour. can somebody show me around?

I'd almost like to allowcate a "BF.net section", ala the Buckethead section, but more informal. The problem is I usually can't get the wife to unless I get decent seats, but a BF.net section almost calls for cheap tickets to increase the quantity of games attended.

Otherwise, you'll have people sort of wandering from location to location (if you have 3 parties trying to hook up).

Brian - would there be any way to allow a post to be edited by all users? If they just wanted to add their name after something like this?

We are demanding little devils ain't we. My name is molitorfan and I have been emoticon-free for 28 days....thanks, thanks. Anyway just wanted to say thanks to Brian for all his work to make this site about the fans and doing all the things he does to make it better, even as the 1600th person registers today. Especially when it gets to be unfortunately more than just baseball, this site continues to be the best. Thanks for all your work, and yes, I do think a calendar would be a great way to foster more brewerfan.net meet-ups.

[ Brain, what about some sort of form/calendar system thru the main site? ]

We're actually close to having a game calendar online, so we could extend that to allow users to enter their seat locations... but I still wouldn't mind creating a central location where people could me so people don't have to coordinate between themselves as to where to meet.

So if person A goes to hook up with person B, and person C goes to hook up withi person A, there's no disconnect.

I've looked at the Brewers web site to try and find a pretty logical and centralized meeting location for people. Obviously, the 300 level is out of the question, and the 400 and 100 levels would be rather far to travel, so the 200 level seems the closest to a half way point. I also looked to see if there was a specific landmark (food stand, etc) around the home plate area (middle of the park) and have come of the opinion that right outside of Section #217 would be easy to remember and represent BF.Net well since it is a Family Section.

Otherwise, maybe we could maybe make a "standard" Brewer seating area on the 400 level (cheap, still very good) in between home and first base- perhaps section 416. Section 417 is also a family section and if someone wanted family section seating, they'd be right next to the bf.netters who didn't want to sit amongst lots of kids or be able to have a beer if desired.

How does that sound?

I'd be down for it... but the wife _hates_ the nosebleed section. So either it will take some convincing or will take me heading to games without her.

I'm going to side with your wife on this one. I feel like I'm playing sim-city up there. Besides, the Bleachers are cheaper and closer to the field.

It's a comfort thing entirely. However- a bf.net bleacher area is a great idea. I'm a BF Bleacher Creature. (wait, that's gross)

Here's a seating chart: maybe a section in the Jenkins Jungle?

How about 206-209?

That's a good idea. If I recall, there's a rather large open area out there where you can step away from the crowd and easily be seen.

Maybe we should just make the official meeting area/seating area section 204 then. Is there some official anouncement to make? Should we (you) try to make this known somehow?

This probably won't work on Friday games though, that section becomes the Miller Lite Beer Pen.

then again, Friday may be the best day......
