No, I didn't either. I figured it was a 6-8 week delivery, but we have to be past that by now. Everyday I come home from work w/ a big smile, only to be dissapointed to find out no poster yet.

"Hey Brian - Sorry, I've been in and out for the past few days.

 

I followed up with those who are shipping the prizes and they confirmed

that they have not gone out yet. My apologies. They have promised me

that the posters will be shipped at the beginning of next week (Nov 29).

I must admit, that's about as weak of an excuse as I can imagine. Maybe I'm haunted by the "customer is always right" mentality, but geez, grab a pen and a sticky label and take care of it.

 

It took more time to write the e-mail to Brian than to take care of it.

It turns out that there is an 'exact' way that we're supposed to give out our addresses these days; it has to do with computer databases. Someone (the post office, I think) standardized these a few years ago.

 

I had a UPS delivery get stuck in transit a couple of years ago just because of this. We can't say 'County Trunk', 'County Highway', or 'County Trunk Highway' anymore; it has to be 'County Road'. (The locals here always used the abbreviation, 'CTH'.)

 

The post office is able to deal with variations in how addresses are written just because people in the local facility know what to do. However, other carriers may have a problem.
