requesting longer thread titles

Verified Member

I have a small and hopefully simple request. I don't want to pick on anyone, but the short mysterious thread titles annoy me just a little. Unfortunately, as much as I would like to, time doesn't allow me to read every thread. I wish I didn't have to do it this way, but I sometimes pick and choose what I read from the title of the thread. Therefore, I'm wondering if people can be more conscious of being more specific. It doesn't really take too long to add some words to the titles, and it allows fairly long entries. I don't think I would be the only person that would benefit from this.

Again, not to pick on anyone, but here's some examples from the Major League board:

"OBM Link"- This was a link to a nice article and I'm glad I read it. But if I wasn't up late, I would have never clicked on it based on the title. It would be much better titled "Good article on Milton Bradley" or something much more specific.

"Names"- This doesn't tell me anything. Maybe people would read and respond to the post if the title said something.

"Carlos Lee" and "Gary Glover"- there are several things these could pertain to. Now based on current happenings I can assume these would be better titled "Carlos Lee is awesome" and "Gary Glover stinks" but it would be nice to know that before deciding if I have the time to read it.

I hope this doesn't step on any toes and I hope I'm not crucified for admitting I don't read everything on the board.

How about "clearer" thread titles? Some of these are just hilarious. "names" is a good one. there is one right now in the Trading Forum that is "2005 white jersey Sheets" - sounds like someone is selling or looking for a jersey doesnt it? Nope...its a bobblehead...but even that isnt clear from the tone of the thread.

Clarity, Clarity, Clarity.
