Will Brewerfan.net be asking for donations soon?

It seems that the window to donate was pretty short last year because money for the forums was raised so quickly. I don't want to miss it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

We're about 90 days out from our renewal date, so in 60 days you'll see the community chest pop back open.

Until then, i highly encourage everyone who views the site with some frequency to sign up as a ezSupporter. It's $12 a year, and with it your page views do not count against Brewerfan.net's total.

If you're a regular lurker, i'd also encourage you to sign up for an account and pay the $12, as your totals count against our price as well.

Our current renewal prices is $758 for 6 months. That means a year's renewal will probably be around $1100 I think. If you haven't registered as an ezSupporter yet and you're a very regular reader, your money is far better spent on registering than paying a donation when that time comes up...

Good idea, Brian, in mentioning ezSupporter once again. That has to help in a big way. A few things to keep in mind:

  • If you visit other ezBoards, you're also helping them out.
  • I use the Edit and Preview functions a lot. Those are page views, too.
  • I think most of us have done this, but the icon next to the username has to be turned on manually. If people do this, others will eventually ask what it is and more people will sign up. Directions for turning on the icon:

      [li]Go to My Control Center.
  • Follow the Edit Profile link.
  • Check the box by Show ezSupporter Icon.
  • Save changes at the bottom.

Another bump up from me to announce my purchase of EZ supporter. Now I've got the cool little gold thing by my name too!

I was just going to ask how I could renew. The cool thing is that a link popped up (under the Inbox) telling me to do just that. You'll see the link when you have 30 days left.

It took about 2 minutes to enroll for another year.

I have a question about ezsupporter. I signed up for it yesterday, but I don't have it yet. I even received a confirmation e-mail. I went to my control center to turn on the icon, but I don't have that option. It's as if I never signed up for it. Does it take a while for it to go through?

Stevo, mine was able to be activated almost instantly. All I had to do was check the box and it was visible in my next post.

If I remember correctly, it said something about an 'electronic' check possibly causing a delay. I've never used one of those, so I really can't comment further. I used PayPal, and got an almost immediate response in my In Box.

Well this is kind of a long story, but I have a feeling it is why there is a problem. I tried to pay via credit card and kept getting an error message. I sent Brian a message and he directed me to an ezboard help page. I discovered I was getting the error message because I am a local ezboard user and was trying to use a credit card (why that was a problem, I'm not sure). So chose the paypal option, but I don't have a paypal account. There was an option under paypal to use a credit card somehow, so that's what I did. Apparently that's what you are supposed to do if you don't have a paypal account.

Ayways, I did all that and it confirmed my purchase. I have a confirmation e-mail. That was Monday, and nothing has happened. If I go to my account, there is still a link to sign up for ezsupporter, but nothing about activating it. I'm thinking it's either delayed or somehow didn't go through, but I don't want to sign up again and end up paying for it twice or something. Basically, I'm completely lost.
