Why? Why?? Why???

I already posted a topic on this a week ago, so sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but why in the world do we have to cram every post regarding a specific game into ONE thread?!?!

I can totally understand keeping the actual "in-game" talk in one thread. In other words, the discussion about the game while it's taking place. But I specifically wanted to start a thread about 6 hours after the game ended about what I thought was the "worst thing about the game" and see what others thought. I didn't want to post a message at the end of a 14 page thread where no one can see it. I wanted to stimulate some discussion on the main board...you know, the board where everyone goes to discuss the Brewers?

I love Brewerfan.net. It beats the heck out of the "official" Brewers website message board or the JSonline message board, but the moderators on the forum are nuts. I swear the moderators enjoy moving and locking threads more than discussing baseball. It's not like this board was in disarray and now there is a big crackdown. What gives???

PS- You better read this fast because it might be on the "Complaints/Non-baseball" forum soon, or maybe the "Threads that start with the letter 'W' " forum. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

FYI, there are 7 locked threads on the first three pages of this forum. Why? There are about 10 new threads a day on this forum (most likely because everyone is afraid of getting yelled at or having their thread locked/moved/deleted because they're not posting in the correct place), it's not like there's a lot of clutter.

If you want to start a thread, I suggest you just talk about a situation and leave the words "today's game" out of it.

If you want to talk about the decision making/ defense/pitching, talk about what you want to talk about.....and finish it with a "for instance in today's game Ned let the pitch count go to 145 before pulling Davis"....instead of starting the thread like that.

Make it applicable to more than 1 single game and I doubt you get shutdown. I read this forum before I started posting and that's how it works. Maybe frustrating at times, but this is the BEST fan site I've found for any team of any sport.

That's what I've learned....but you've probably been here longer than me.

And this thread helps?

I agree that sometimes it seems as though moderators can't wait to lock down threads, and that a "majority rules" mentality sometimes steamrolls independant opinions on this board. However, I hate enduring countless repetative boring threads calling for Jenkin's head because he didn't hit for the cycle last inning!

All I'm trying to do is make my voice heard. If you don't agree with me, then so be it. I'm making this point after I took the time to write a post on what I thought was the worst part of yesterday's game. I show up today and it's locked. WHY? Because I mentioned the words "today's game" in it?

Like I said, there is no clutter on this board because no one posts new threads. Case in point, the same threads have been at or near the top of the list for the past 3-4 days.

Why does it matter?

Because there is never anything new on this board. It's the same threads at the top every day. Then someone tries to post about Ben Sheets' rehab start and it's immediately locked because we certainly don't want anyone talking about our ace's big comeback on the wrong board. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif

Why? Why? Why is it so hard for you to just follow the rules of the forum? If your thread is a good one, it will get the exposure you want no matter where you put it. The only kind of exposure you are getting right now is a negative one.

Not to stir the pot here, but if you posted it only a week ago, why not revive the old post? Creating a new one creates several more page views which costs this site money.

But I specifically wanted to start a thread about 6 hours after the game ended about what I thought was the "worst thing about the game" and see what others thought.

Which is something that took place "in the game", correct? again, page views for a new thread dealing with an already existing thread topic costs page views= $$

I'm not sure that I'm "nuts" but if I were, I wouldn't know it anyhow. What makes us "go nuts" is the fact that new threads get posted about a topic already being discussed. Let's say that Ben sheets is going to start on Sunday. Now, Sheeter getting the nod for Sunday will obviously be talked about in the in game thread, right? Why then would we need to "double" the page views about Sheets and cost us more money than necessary? The IGT is sufficient to talk about him throwing and threads like

"Ben is starting today"

"Mets are in trouble, Sheets gets the start"

"Ben Sheets: is he really ready to start today?"

all say the same thing, all easily talked about in one thread, not 3 which is 3x the page views and costs more money.

I swear the moderators enjoy moving and locking threads more than discussing baseball.

Nope. Wrong. You try moderating once. It isn't easy. Decisions about threads, etc will usually spur negative feelings from someone, and that's unfortunate. We moderate as little as possible actually. Threads get locked because of only a few things:

Personal attacks-

duplicate threads-

That's about it really. I sometimes close Bottom of the 9th! threads so that we don't inadvertently get the correct answer before the contest has begun.

PS- You better read this fast because it might be on the "Complaints/Non-baseball" forum soon

If you knew that this would clutter up the major league forum and this topic belonged in the issues forum then WHY WHY WHY did you put it in the wrong forum to begin with?

You just made a thread complaining about moving threads that oddly enough you -knew- would have to be moved.

Quite simply, excess page views cost money. purchasing EZ Supporter is just $12.00 for an entire year and saves us money for the site. Maybe if more folks had EZ Supporter we could save some cash.

This thread was moved not to irritate you, but because it belongs in the issues forum, which you even stated yourself.

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

I can think of a lot of things wrong with this thread:

- calling the moderators "nuts"

- creating a duplicate thread

- putting this thread in the wrong forum

- loading the subject line with "???"

You stated your opinion once. We heard it. We responded to it. Complaining through repitition is not going to work.

Now i'm going to lock this thread, because another thread about this topic already exists here:
