Are the Brewers trying to be more fan friendly?

“You need?”…. The need to manage the family budget is many times more important to me than how much I “share” in funding the payroll. Not paying for meh food at crazy prices. $8 water?  Not going to buy much, if anything.
I pay for tickets, parking, and cable to see or support the team.

Well yeah your family budget is more important than the team's budget obviously. However, we are talking about Brewers payroll here...

Came across this about food/drink at other MLB stadiums. Might be interesting to some: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/628/beer-hot-dog-and-ticket-prices-at-major-league-baseball-parks.html

Not sure some of those are right.  I spent $7.50 for a hot dog at Miller, er, um, AmFam field last year.  It cost me $15 for a hot dog and soda.

Is a beer really $3 at Coor's Field?  Wow!

Many MLB teams do discount beer now, it's usually a 12 oz can of cheap light beer and it tends to be $3-$5. You also have to know the specific spots in the stadium to get it from. I think some also do a 'happy hour' during batting practice with discounted food/drinks.

$8 for bottled water is ridiculous. I think it was $9 at the new NHL arena in Seattle before numerous complaints got the price down to $5. At least they encourage fans to carry in an empty bottle and use a filling station.

Looks like cheaper prices means smaller as well.  Junior Hot Dogs and Junior nachos for $4.   Price may be lower, but it looks like you are going to get a lot less too.

I'm skeptical of the whole thing, we'll see what it's all like in person.

It appears the $4 junior hot dog/nachos are going to be new.  The article also said they are reducing the price on 15 other items - how much, obviously, remains to be seen.

In addition, the Brewers are reducing prices on 15 other food and beverage items this season, including staples like beer, craft cocktails, popcorn, peanuts and frozen custard.”

With the state of the economy and all do the moves that haven’t worked out as planned since the hader trade, this was their only choice to not have attendance fall through the roof. I agree, let’s see what kind of decrease it is. Still 4 dollars for a Jr hotdog or a 16 oz coke isn’t a great deal

Bottled water was $7.39 for a majority of the 2022 season. Then they cut the price by $2 in August after they were unrelentingly shamed on Twitter for months.

Schlesinger and the Brewers should be embarrassed by the quality/cost of the concessions at the park during the past two years.

I've noticed in recent years that some food is decent, but they seemed to put a lot more effort into artisan-type stuff (that's a stretch) than classic ballpark food. I had a turkey wrap that was decent, but the brat/hot dog options kinda stink. I'm healthier at the park than I think most fans care to be, I don't really drink either so a $12 beer is not a big deal to me personally but it's obviously insane.

I'll never argue the concessions aren't nutty, but you can grill a 6 pack of brats in the lot on a portable grill and bring a bag of chips. You can even foil wrap a brat and bring it in. It's not like you don't have ways to get around it. Most of the time, tickets can be had for well under face.

I was looking at the schedule and noticed that there is a ticket bundle for Sundays- 4 terrace outfield tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas, and a general parking pass for $59.  I don't know if they offered this in the past, but it's definitely something that I plan on using this year to bring the family to a game.

Food and drink prices and/or quality don't concern me. I go to a handful of games per year and prefer to spend my money on good seats (in the range of Sections 112 to 123) rather than absurdly priced beer and brats.

As long as I can carry in water and peanuts I'm good.

If I want a full spread of food I will tailgate before the game.

They had this many years ago when our kids were little.  It was the one way our family of 5 could go to a ballgame without breaking the bank.  We would get the 4 pack plus one extra ticket and share the concessions.  I don't recall what the price was at the time but I am glad to hear they brought it back even though we don't go for the cheaper seats anymore now that the kids pay there own way if they come with.

I was so taken aback when I paid $30 for four waters and a popcorn at the women's Badgers at Gophers hockey game a few weeks ago.  There were long lines, I made my order, she said $30 and any tips go to such and such youth sports association.  It was like an out of body experience, I didn't confirm the prices and mindlessly added a tip to the overpriced water and very average popcorn without question.  I walked away feeling like they had some sort of mind control experiment going on at the University of Minnesota women's hockey arena.

I can only hope that the youth sports association made more than just tips from all those purchases.
