36-year old Wade Miley will earn more than to-be-35-year old Aroldis Chapman. Interesting times! This should probably unlock a few more LHP reliever signings as well (Chafin, Moore, Smith, etc.).

Good. Besides being a terrible person, his baseball skills are rapidly declining.

Chafin and Moore are the two remaining FA relievers I have interest in. We’ll see what happens.

This is one of the first guys I think of when I ponder "If this guy is on an MLB team, I sure don't see why Trevor Bauer can't be."

Chapman’s offense resulted in a 30 day suspension.

Bauer was originally slated for 324 days before the arbitrator knocked it down to 194.

MLB appears to believe Bauer’s actions were considerably worse.

In 2022 his velocity dropped noticeably and his walks went way up. Plus he's a turd of a person and he quit on his team at the end of last year.

I'd say the Royals more likely than not just wasted $3.75 million, regardless of whether the deal was lower than expected.

I'm very happy to have the Brewers not sign this chump.

Yeah, I will just cheer for laundry at times but if the choice to cheer for laundry without a rotten person inside or cheer for laundry with a rotten person inside, I'd really prefer the former.

And given the number of arms out there and available options, let's just avoid the rotten people and everybody is happier.

His K-rate is cratering, his walk rate is going to the moon, His fastball was the slowest of his career in 2022. I don't think we missing out on much. At 34 I doubt his velocity is going to come back. He also really would be much of a workhorse either. More you pitch him the more his velocity is going to take a hit and be less effective. His ERA wasn't woefully different 0-1 days versus 2+...but his advanced stats show he was pretty crummy on little rest.

I forgot about him quitting last year...dude is definitely a douche bag. Kinda odd he turned down more money from the Padres. I suppose the Royals park is just as pitcher friendly. I guess he prefers to play for a bum team where he can collect a paycheck without much stress and can likely stay on the MLB team all year regardless of performance. Pretty sure he quit on the Yankees because he wasn't assured a spot on the postseason roster.
