LOL...this is in the "the Packers should cut Davante Adams," year two type logic.

First of all, Jamar Chase, Julio Jones, TO, Calvin Johnson...Dames, Nelson, etc...

But, setting aside the LONG list of WRers who struggled with drops early, what makes you think NFL front office people who work 100 hour weeks scouting and watching every player on every other team is NOT going to know something that you do?

I think Watson will be very good player. It's been a disappointing year for him but this isn't really uncommon.

I know this team hasn't been great to watch but I don't really think this is a clean house situation. They have some really nice players. Just a combination of too raw in spots and too injured in others. This year feels more like 2008 than 2005.

It's not like they're getting embarrassed by 3 scores a game, but they're just not quite a winning team. I think they could be decent a soon as next year with a little luck.

At least they haven't quit, I'll give them that.

I think where we're at with Watson is ... he was probably not the best WR available for a team that was hoping to contend and needed immediate help at the WR position.

He's definitely worth a 2nd round pick, as the dude has freak athleticism and ridiculous speed, and is worth the time and effort as a "project" pick, but for a team that wanted to contend this year, and needed help *right now*, he might not have been the guy (as he scores again, lol).

But here we are. He's our guy now. Let's hope he develops and can turn into a 60/900/8 guy and he isn't another Robert Ferguson or the like.

I think you nailed it. I was hoping we'd end up with Alex Pierce and Sky Moore.

That said, if we're going to hope Watson develops...we might as well hope he DEVELOPS. If he gets past the drops, he's got Julio type upside.

If not, then it's more like MVS his first 3 years...which is valuable, but hopefully we get a little more upside.

Agreed. I really do not know that this team couldn't get back to being a legit competitor next year. With a potential top 10 pick and young guys getting a lot of time the rest of this year, I don't know, they're far away right now, but I don't know if they're THAT far away.

They might need a full rebuild, but they've got a lot of talented guys who COULD make a big jump. Also...just a new DC would help.

Look at the hands on Nixon!  (Who seems intent on proving why the coaches stuck with Amari for so long. Yikes, dude…)

LOL...I'm not sure that's the best way to field a punt moving forward, but we didn't fumble, so...that's a success.

Rich Bisaccia has been nice, but I don't get the Rodgers thing either. On the one hand, he looks much quicker and more explosive this year. On the other...9 fumbles...

That's  what will happen when your punt returner fumbles and your defense can't get a break off the field in 2nd half. ToP.

That's true...

Also, Bakh is just so good. You see how he handles Parsons speed or whoever he needs to block and he's just SO reliable.

Problem is I don't know what his future looks like, is it going to be a constant issue or will it get better, stronger?

So, not trading Watson, then?  Good, we’re agreed.

LOL...this kid still needs to be a lot more steady, but these are the types of things that make you think...MAYBE this dude can help them get back next year. Him, Doubs, Toure looks nice.

really wish we could have seen Watson and Doubs on the field at the same time for more than a game or two.

Well before today it has been clear watching Watson that he has crazy athleticism. When he gets going he looks like he's on a different level than everyone on the field. Just hasn't been able to stay on the field or catch. It's nice to see him put it together a little. Easy to see why they wanted him, and it's not his fault they made him their best receiver in year one.

Right...that combination of the intermediate routes with the guy who can be the deep threat. Lazard and Tonyan working over the middle.

If you squint, you can kinda, maybe see the makings of a really good offense next year.

I’ve been drinking a shot every time Greg Olson has said that, “Watson is the fastest guy on the team.” I’m so drunk I can’t get out of my chair.

NOW I understand the "lets trade Watson now," comment...
