New forum subject (Brian)

Brian,

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a "Baseball stadiums" subject to the forums. There are always people asking questions about various stadiums/cities, where to stay, what to see, experiences, etc. Just thought this would be a nice feature to have as well as cutting down on duplicate threads.

not to be a party pooper, but i don't think we need more forums...though, this could easily be a pinned thread..

i dunno, maybe a forum...of course, the fantasy sports forum that is propsed every year gets shot down, so who knows..

I think Travel is too narrow for a whole forum, but I do see BrewCrewKid's point. It seems to be a toss-up as to whether this type of discussion belongs in Off Topic vs. the Major or Minor League forums.

I think it'd be cool to find a home for the fantasy stuff. Would it make sense to combine Fantasy with Statistical Analysis?

Look at the statistics forum, and the post counts in those threads, and I could easily see that happening to a "baseball travel" forum as well.

There are probably a handfull of people that come here and care to get that in-depth with the statistical side of baseball, so I think the low post count was to be expected. A "Baseball Travel" forum would be for informational purposes.

I thought that the statistical analysis forum was created for people to discuss that stuff without getting other members riled up about clicking on the topic (when they were in the Major League forum) and having to read that stuff.

Some people didn't like to read the stat analysis but didn't get it that they just shouldn't click those threads or read them. Voila! Stats analysis forum.

i think part of the reason for the stats forum was to create a way to save some of those threads as reference for later...

we were having a lot of the same arguments over and over again, and the existence of that thread createds a semi-permanent way to save threads..

I've always been a proponent of a forum in which the sole topic is the discussion of how many forums there should be http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif .

Nothing personal, but there are probably several other websites where baseball travel, road trips, and ballparks are discussed in detail. I know we consider our group family and friends here, but a forum dedicated to the subject -- I just don't see it.

One of the things that was happening before the existence of the Stats Forum was that people were explaining the same stats over and over again. Now, in many cases, it's possible to simply provide a link.

The stats forum is a way to archive past statistical related threads and have stat questions answered. I think (hope) it serves a useful purpose.

It sure does, it keeps the 2006 June Draft forum from crashing into the Brewerfan.net Softball forum.

It would be neat to have a "Hash-re-Hash" thread where people could have endless and ongoing debates about the same topics, seperate of course from the MLB thread --

We already have the Major League Forum where every thread appears to be a rehash of the same thing. Maybe Brian could just change the name of the Major League Forum to Beating a Dead Horse Forum

Can we change the Minor League Forum to the "Overhyped Franchise Saviors" forum?

I like it, but I don't know if that's the best choice. You could make an argument that the June Draft forum would be a better choice for that title.
