Brewer Fanatic

Thanks, everybody.

With the Brewers' season waning, I thought I would take the time to thank everyone who has made bf.net such an entertaining (and, most of the time, pleasant) online community this year. Not just Brian and other staff/moderators, but everyone who has contributed to forums, articles and events.

I've spent more time on the site this past year than I did the previous 2 1/2 combined! and with few exceptions have enjoyed it all. I really appreciate having an outlet for my Brewers interest, especially a high quality one like this. ( I suspect the people in my life who aren't such ardent baseball fans appreciate my having this outlet too. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif )

This doesn't mean I'm going away in the off season, but I know participation will drop off soon. So thanks; don't be total strangers, you guys; and I'll hope to see some of you at the bf.net winter meeting.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I, too, would like to express my thanks to Brian for the site and for everyone for giving me something fun to do everyday. You wouldn't believe how many times a day I start a conversation with my wife with, "I read on Brewerfan . . . . ." I love this site because of the content and the restrictions on what is included in that content. Everyone is friendly and, even if I have never met anybody face-to-face, I feel like I have.

Have a great off-season everybody. April 2nd get here soon enough.

Heck, mid-February can't get here soon enough!

I seriously laughed out loud when i read that..I don't have a wife but a gf and I'm pretty sure that I say that line at least once a day to her..This was my first year to the board and I must say Im hooked..I love baseball, but most of my friends can't stand it.this is a great way for me to talk and vent about baseball and the milwaukee brewers..its also kinda funny...with in the first couple months you can really tell what posters like and dislike and who they like and who they don't. and the knowledge of some of the people on here is amazing..I have never seen so many stats thrown around in my life and to tell you the truth, up until this year, i didn't even really look at any other stats but your basics..batting ave, hrs and RBIs..now i'm looking deeper into them...so thank you BF and posters to making this season a little bit easier to take...I'll be attending the next BF event for sure.

That's why I'm on here so much most of the year. I've lived in Wisconsin during the summers, but I spend mid-August through may in Texas. Here, the majority of my friends are females who aren't into sports (only maybe 15 of the 60+ people in my department are male), and the few friends who like baseball have no interest in the Brewers.

the off-topic forum still has plenty of material

Indeed. I continue to be surprised at how often I find out about a non-Brewers (even non-baseball) topic on Brewerfan. From celebrity RIPs to Friday's dreadful school shooting, I too can often say, "yeah, I read that on Brewerfan.net." (And I don't even add "of all places" anymore.)

Yeah, definitely don't stop checking up on us- some of our busiest times are during the winter meetings, and the board is really lively in discussing possible moves, and is usually really busy in reporting/discussing actual moves as they happen.

I actually find the moves and speculation from the offseason almost as exciting as the actual games.

I have a feeling the board will seriously pick up speed again once free-agency starts in mid-November all the way thru the Winter Meetings in December.

This was my third season with the Crew and Brewerfan.net to navigate me through the world of baseball and beyond. The off-season is, indeed, quite busy here. Looking forward to all the topics on our big FA acquisitions and trades.
