Brewerfan.net's Wikipedia page

what about the cover story on brian from the js a couple of years ago?

what about countless mentions by jim powell?

what about drew olsen?

what about references from the organization itself?

We have these things, we just need to pool and cite all our resources, and they'll have no choice..

The page has been deleted again.

So it won't be necessary to start from scratch again, here's a workable backup copy. Except for the Baseball Prospectus reference Adam added at the end, I think everything is preserved.

Maybe someone who knows the ins and outs of Wikipedia can ask exactly what's needed. Apparently there's a deletion review process. This page may offer a clue.

In the meantime, maybe we can pool some of the stuff pogokat suggests here in this thread.

If we can find the reference to Brewerfan in the printed copy of Baseball Prospectus we will meet the notability criteria guideline, which is the reason continually given for the reference being deleted. If someone has it they simply need to note the publishing year and probably a page number.

Any specific dates of when Brewerfan is talked about on the radio would be helpful as well.

Also, as much as they may not like it, we may need to list off the relevant baseball people that use this site. Most of them have been pretty open about who they are or what they do, but I'm sure some would prefer us to keep as quiet as possible.

It might also be nice to go thru varius BA chats and the like where Patrick and Mass pepper them with questions. Brewerfan usually gets at least a mention during those, plus I know we've had a few excellent recommendations come out of them as well. Those all would help with establishing our notability.

I haven't looked at it myself, but according to this site, the Baseball Prospectus reference is on p. 138 of the 2005 edition. That was noted in the text of the article but not in the bibliography entry.

If it would please Wikipedia, I could figure out how to put page numbers in the bibliography entry. But given comments like this on the whine page, I'm not optimistic that that would be enough:

I'll resist the temptation to label this "sausagecruft", but a few passing mentions from reputable sources isn't enough to satisfy WP:WEB. Caknuck 21:14, 20 December 2006
Digging up some of the chats online seems to be a good idea, though. If Baseball Prospectus and a page number isn't enough, it would seem that the issue is quantity rather than quality.

EDIT: Great idea about the WSSP stuff, Russ.

Just to see what would happen, I sent a cell phone text message to Google to see if anything would come back. Lo and behold, the return message showed Adam's first sentence from the last Wikipedia page.
