Does anyone use Google Fi?  If so, what has been your experience?  Any privacy concerns I should be aware of with Google owning the device and having access to your call history?

It is google of course you should be concerned with private information.

I don’t know anyone who has used Google Fi but it can’t be any worse than all of the other cell phone carriers.

My business partner uses GoogleFi and swears by it.  I don't have any practical knowledge about it.  He did say that some business-level applications (i.e. Teams or WebEx) doesn't perform well on the mobile device.  That's about it.

Looks like Google has taken some steps to address and no longer collects some of this data:

I've had no major issues with xFinity Mobile, and I get internet + mobile service for a combined total of <$100/mo.  But my company changed their cell/internet reimbursement policy, and with my internet and mobile billed separately at $79 and $18 respectively, I can only get $50/mo reimbursed for internet and $70/mo for cell.  Thus I'm looking to uncouple my internet and mobile where I can get internet for under $50 (easy) but the question is getting mobile + new phone for under $70.  The other option I'm looking at is T-Moble that has an individual plan for $45/mo plus taxes/fees.  Google Fi is interesting because other than xFinity it's the only one I can find that charges for data by the Gb; I'm rarely not on WiFi and rarely watch video on my phone, and maybe once a year when I'm traveling will I go over 1Gb data in a month.

I can also use a messaging app other than Google; not sure if there are other phone dialer apps.

I'm looking to switch cell service providers. Anyone have experience with Google Fi? I have a Pixel phone that I like.

Ya know, there's already a thread about this. ?

So far, the service is good.  They allow you to switch from by-the-gig to unlimited on a month-to-month basis, so if you're going to be traveling and using a lot of data you can switch to unlimited for a month.

However, the Samsung Galaxy A13 they provided is a piece of junk.  If you have a Pixel phone you'll probably be OK.

d'oh! Made it as far as Cutting the Cord and didn't see the other one. I'll merge them.

Thanks. I have an older Pixel and am looking at upgrading to the Pixel 6a.
