Well, last year the Brewers signed 5 of the 10 late draft picks, not agreeing terms with 3 high schoolers and 2 JUCO-1’s.

I assume that means we’re well-placed to sign 11 Wagner, 14 Maldonado (whom we also drafted in 2018), 16 Lege and 20 Hall.

Of the remainder, 5 are recent high school graduates who’ve committed to play college ball (but can choose to go pro anyway): 12 Adams (Michigan State), 13 Petty (Texas Tech), 17 Neal (LSU), 18 Cijntije (Mississippi State) and 19 Noot (LSU), while the remaining one is a JUCO-1: 15 Norman.

Maybe we’ll get one of the LSU guys to sign. Last year, we drafted two high schoolers who’d committed to Arizona State, one of which signed (Caden Vire).

17 Neal (LSU) and 18 Cijntije (Mississippi State) both stated on Twitter that they’ll stick with their college commitments.

LSU online fans sound confident that 19 Noot will honor his university commitment, but in contrast 15 Norman is getting a lot of congratulatory messages.

VP Domestic Scouting Tod Johnson mentioned how difficult it may be to keep 13 Petty from sticking with Texas Tech.

Trying to read the tea leaves, 15 Satchell Norman sounds most likely to sign, while 12 Luke Adams is worth crossing fingers for.

@Mass Haas picked up two nuggets:

- 16th round selection Ethan Lege is not a sure thing to sign, as he'd committed to Mississippi in November 2021: https://www.theadvocate.com/acadiana/sports/high_schools/article_eadbf5ec-07b5-11ed-810c-2f3f40f07efc.html

- 15th round pick Satchell Norman intends to sign: https://www.heraldtribune.com/story/sports/2022/07/19/brewers-select-former-sailor-norman-15th-round-mlb-draft/10100976002/
