long overdue for a guy who didn't expect to make the club out of spring training.

and who can blame him? out of pitchers last season, he was sent on optional assignment second most often.

His fastball velocity ranks 166th.

Back in my day, we called that "crafty." And if you are successful enough, your ERA would be "sparkling."

Milner is the definition of a guy finding success via the "smoke and mirrors" route. But he's been very effective this season, so I'm willing to ride this wave of good fortune for as long as it lasts.

Gotta give credit to the front office.  This is why those minor league free agent signings matter.  Seems the Brewers have hit on a lot more of those in recent years.

How much of this is a credit to the pitching lab the brewers have?  They seem to have much more success than most teams with getting results out of scrap heap pitchers.  They are doing something right for sure.  I hope it continues

Until Hobby Milner and his old-timey stories came around I had never seen Brewers fan fiction before.
