google-analytics?

Brian and/or anybody else,

Lately, I have had problems getting the site to run well/open pages at a decent speed. When I click a topic in the forum, the status bar says "transferring data from google-analytics.com . . . . ." and stays that way for a good minute before opening the page.

I did some searching on the web and found out by turning off javascript in my firefox options it eliminates that problem. Of course, that also means many links and hot buttons on all other sites don't work, so you have to constantly keep changing the javascript option on/off for various sites, which gets pretty annoying pretty fast.

Anybody else see this happening with their systems? If so, what have you done about it? Does anybody else have any other suggestions?

I get the same 'google analytics' thing. The message board as a whole has been quite slow and occasionally (1-3 times a day) takes a good 30 seconds before it finally loads. It's been that way since ezboard did their upgrades a few months back.

I get both google-analytics and googlesyndication. I think it started around the time I began noticing "animated" ads across the bottom of the page. I've been chalking up the slow load times to my dialup connection, but it's occasionally pokey when I have access to a high speed connection too.

(I use mostly Firefox 2.0.0.4 at home and mostly IE 7 at the library.)

well, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one experiencing this. I had thought I had some sort of spyware going at first but after reading a bit online about it, that doesn't appear to be the case. Spyware Search and Destroy came up with nothing either.

Everything works fine for me as well, but I would strongly suspect this to be a plugin issue. If this happens in IE7 as well as Firefox, you could try to run IE7 without plugins just to see what happens. Go to All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (no add-ons) to do this. If Brewerfan loads ok, then it's definetely a plugin issue.

I would first try updating your JAVA plugin by going to Java.com. It's probably best to uninstall the old one first before installing the new one.
