If the only Brewers games you saw were the ones we’ve attended the last two years you would assume they were a 100 loss team.

I'm willing to chip in to pay you not to go to games.

After Tuesday’s 3-0 loss, Brewers are 1-7 with seven runs scored and four shutouts  with me in attendance since beginning of 2021. And one of the runs was a 10th inning run against the Reds last summer.

To qualify for "pay to not play", you will need ticket receipts or proof of purchase to the games you wish to qualify for a payment plan to not attend games.

There are going to be games like this. The important thing is for Freddy to be ok.

Yes … but we’ve had too many of these “no show” games for only a quarter of the year (game 41 of 162)

I’ve been going to Brewers games for 52 seasons and this was only an issue last year. I was hoping after the Cubs game that this year would be back to normal.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Starting Brosseau at short is a way of saying we are more than happy with 2 out of 3.

What worries me is that we've only played 5 games against teams with a > 0.500 record (going 2-3), which is be far the lowest number in MLB. And the teams with equally good or better records are all doing much better than 2-3.  I'll be more comfortable with where this team is going once they've played some good teams.

This is exactly what I've been saying. Its great that we have a good record but we need to see how we play against other likely playoff teams to see where this team is at. This coming week and really the next month will tell a lot about this team.

5 games is way too small of a sample size, so you can't possibly start comparing our performance against teams above .500 to that of other teams, especially when we're one bullpen meltdown against the Giants from that record being 3-2. We're a good team. One crazy get-away game against the Nationals, who we've already taken the series from in decisive fashion, should not be a cause for anything other than temporary frustration....

I see it didn't take long for the talks about whether this is a good team to get started up again...?

This team is good but we do need to see how we do against other likely playoff teams. Its not unreasonable to want to see how we do against a team like San Diego instead of the dregs of the league such as Pittsburgh and Washington.

Counsell did not set the right tone for this game, though, by starting Brosseau at SS and McCutchen at LF.

Like it or not McCutchen is an everyday player for this team even if he can't hit righties.

No, it's not unreasonable. But it is interesting how this conversation always seems to pop up on occasions like this...

The Padres are 4-4 vs teams over .500.

On top of that, the entirety of their run differential comes from their 6-0 record against the Reds.

Using this data, I've concluded the Padres aren't good.  At least not yet.

I think we have a pretty good idea who is good in this league with half of the teams trying to out tank each other.
