I can not describe how happy I am for Trevor Kelley. What an evening for his family. Keston, what can you say? THAT is how you atone for a mistake. You just LOVE to see it. We all still know Keston is a defensive liability but he is obviously still so dangerous at the plate. Just. Wow.

Like I said before, I don't see how it makes a difference. All things start equal either with the bases empty or a runner on second.

It increases run scoring, which increases variance in run scoring, which then results in shorter games.

The higher-scoring a game is, the less likely it is to be tied during any given moment.

So, are we a good team now that we finally took a series from another good team? At least, I think the Braves are a good team.

How about this:

We are a good team regardless.

That's my take.

I just want all our men to experience success. I'm unafraid to admit: I'm a wee teary eyed. This is a regular season game. Maybe meaningless in the grand scheme of things. BUT, this was Trevor Kelley's first Big League victory under very difficult circumstances. That was just a HUGE redemption swing lifting his team to victory. These are the sports moments, folks. What can you say about Keston Hiura shrugging off that dropped throw and leading his team to a 'W'? That's the stuff of winners. I am truly touched.

So, the unexpected happened.

I got to the airport and saw that the score was 4 to 3 in the ninth inning and was able to watch most of the rest, including the game winner.

A very good game and series win going into the off day.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Oh I have no doubt we're a good team, it was just a rhetorical question to some of the people who have repeatedly told me we're not a good team because we can't beat good teams, and that the Phillies don't count as a good team.

I'll politely disagree on Kelley señor. That was a fine inning. He gave up a first pitch oppo jam shot. That was a big league poke hit. He settled down and was excellent. This is his first big league inning since 2020. I was quite impressed.

You are correct … I posted after his first pitch

however - I’m not a fan of sidewinders

Glad he got he win - seems like a genuinely nice guy (based on the Twitter video I watched earlier today)

Can't believe you were able to fly back from Hawaii over the course of a game. This sure was a long one with a great ending!

Just imagine if we had Nick Castellanos and J.D. Martinez? ;)

I know. I know my friend. I probably overstated my card there. You're a good one, Sir. I am just a proud fan right now?

Absolutely a good one. It's hard not to root for him. And, admittedly, I kind of play the part of the Minor League 'Dad'. ? I've become 'that guy'. It's kind of gross. LOL. Apologies.

Man I love this thread.  It's just about Whoa Solvdd worthy.  For all the hot takes, I just had no doubt, probably an hour and a half or so ago,  that Keston would come through and be the hero today.  It's just so perfect.  Came from lunch just in time to see him deliver the crow via gamecast.

I had very little feeling that we'd be coming out on top throughout most of this game. And I'm one of the more optimistic ones!
