Obviously the players don’t really care or they would have chosen to get vaccinated, so I still don’t understand the “unforced error” here?
I think the “unforced error” comment is really just throwing a dig at their vaccination status, which at this point in time, who cares anymore what athletes are vaxxed and not. I can guarantee you I’m not going to get Covid from either Goldschmidt or Arenado.

It would be humanly impossible for me to care less about whether Cardinals players are vaccinated but there is some schadenfreude over them playing Toronto minus their two best hitters.

You’re reading a lot more into this than there is, I’m just chuckling that St Louis is going against a very good team at a severe disadvantage.

If the unthinkable happens and the Cardinals voodoo their way to a World Series, I hope beyond all hope it's against the Blue Jays.

I edited your quote to more accurately reflect my thoughts. But I suppose that's neither here nor there.

Hah, fair enough. I'm just so exhausted by it all I don't even care anymore. Drink bleach, eat tide pods, pump horse dewormer into your veins, whatever. I can't be bothered with any of it anymore.

That's where I'm at as well. The only time it bothers me now is when it negatively affects a team I have a rooting interest in.

The way the standings are evolving, with the Phillies and Giants both scuffling, a real possibility is developing that the NL Central race could turn into a battle for home field advantage for a meeting between the teams in the wild card round of the playoffs. The winner would claim the 3 seed and the runner up might get the final wild card spot.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
